Hey all, after buying my first rangie (77 model) about a month ago i have come across another one, the only difference is this one is an 80-81 model and it has a 253 in it, the fella who is selling it to me has said that the 253 has done some damage to the chassis because of the weight of the cast iron engine, my question to you fellas is how does one go about making the chassis strong enough to accomodate the 253 without damage?

thanks in advance,

Busta-P

I can't see how the extra weight of the 253 could damage a range rover chassis??? sounds like B/S to me mate sure he has not made some alterations
say to fit Extractors in.???? I have not seen a chassis stengthened to fit a 253,308,350 before i understood they when with no trouble.

thanks alot fellas, so what you're saying is that there is no need to strengthen anything, the motor should just go straight in with out any major modifications?

on a series land rover that is the chassis weak point , if you give it severe offroad abuse. but on a range rover?
