I just finished installing a turbo boost gauge and pyro meter and thought that I would post the stock settings for anyone that is interested (2.7td nissan) stock turbo psi is 6.5psi and stock exhaust gas tempreture is as follows, crusieing at 110km/hr the temps sit between 300 and 400 degrees celcius on a flat its about 300 and up a slow grade of the highway it gets up to 400. under load it peaks at 550c. all figure are post turbo. Hope this info helps some of you guy's out.

so this means that on a standard boosted td27 under full load you risk damaging the motor ??????????
2.7 Turbo Diesel engine Tips
Here is some general random infomation for anyone that wants it:
EXHAUST TEMPS
MAX of 570c under load for short periods
EGT’s of 535c after turbo are safe temperatures, even for sustained running, mile after mile.
EGT’s above 535c after turbo are getting dangerously high.
Lowering intake temperature (INTERCOOLER) results in an almost equal reduction in exhaust temperature.
Leaning out the A/F ratio on a diesel will just give you less power.
Running a diesel rich will produce lots of smoke, more power and make it run hot!!
Turbo boost - 14psi is an extremely safe psi to have the boost at on a stock diesel engine with big intercooler and free flowing exhaust (you can run 16psi to 18psi safely)
Always run a min of 12 psi – because the lower the boost the richer the mixture needs to be and the richer the mixture the hotter the EGT’s
I think there is a lot or differences in advice for this type of stuff ....

No it means that you need to apply your modifications carefully so you don't exceed the max. safe temp. :thumb:

Further to the above, I have now set the turbo psi at 12 and the EGT's are running at a max of 530 degrees under load with no adjustment of the fuel screw. The power increase is very noticable, the turbo boost comes on much sooner than the stock setting of 6.5psi and overall this setup appears to be suitable for my needs.:thumb:

How did you adjust the boost, and what makes you think it comes on sooner?
