Just went for a quick cruise and after getting into a spot of bother i went to switch on ARB compressor to activate the difflock i noticed it was not a smooth sound as normal instead it had a knock every 4-5 seconds after no diiflocks i got out of the situation to check things out to find no air coming out of manifold to any of the 3 outlets. I can feel solinoid kicking in and out for the difflock. Its dark now. tomorrow i'll look a little closer. But id say the compressor u/s can you get rebuild kits for these and has anyone seen this before?????
Thanks in Advance
Chris

yes there are rebuild kits mate for them. how old is your compressor and how much work has it done?
I have one that is 7 years old now and other than a bad earth wire i have had nill problems thus far!. It has locked 2 diffs and pumped many a tyre after beach runs rather impresivly to date.

So is the compressor pumping air at all? Even if the solenoids are activating, they may not be pumping! There are re-build kits, just not sure that they are worth it! Last time I looked for an ARB Pump, the re-build kit was only a few $$ less than a new pump!! And the new pump wasn't that great, I can tell you!!

It may sounds silly, but are you sure that a mounting bolt hasn't come lose?

Whats wrong with the new pump?? Are you talking about the little one just for lockers. I have one, never had a problem. I have both mine mounted inside the truck. The little one for the lockers is behind the seat, the bigger one is bolted under the side panel of the drawers. I know compressors dont really like living under the bonet of trucks due to heat and dirt.
(Why do I have two compressors? I had the big one permently mounted allready in the back, just the compressor and no facilities for lockers. It was cheaper just to buy another compressor for the lockers than to buy the extras needed to redo the older compressor for the lockers.)

Nothing wrong with them, they just don't pump much air by comparison to some of the competitors!!
And when you find that the re-build cost is only a couple of $$ less than the new pump, it sorta puts a diffrnt light onto it!! For almost the same money, you can get a pump that will move almost twice as much air at 50psi without ever stopping for a break cos it got too hot!! And they take significantly less than half the time to pump up 4 tyres!
Most I know who've been faced with the decision of spending money on the re-build or spending almost the same on a new pump from the competition have gone for the faster competitor's pump!

Are you talking about the little designed just for the lockers. Or the bigger one that will pump tyres and lockers.
Isnt the bigger one the only one that can do both that comes of the shelf?

I believe that the unit I'm referring to is the larger of the two units that you are referring to 02-SR5! It certainly isn't the 'little' single outlet jobbie that I've seen and been told is the 'Locker Only' version. And it is very much in the same style as the PUKT units that have been sold forever as the Tyre Inflation devices!
