dial up ext modem ad vista

is it tru that you cant use a usb dialup modem in vista?? any ideas ?

i have been told you cant
the computer my olds bought dosnt have an int modem and i havent played with vista too much!!

Depends if it's supported by the manufacturer for Vista. You will need to either buy a new modem that states that it's "Vista Ready" or similar. Otherwise you can go to their website (if you have access on another pc) and see if they've added updated drivers specifically for Vista.

yeah i find it hard to believe that whilst trying to install this bloody modem windows in tis wisdom says let windows connect to the internet to find a diver !!
how dumb can you get
