Hi all , when i purchased my Rancho9000's , i was told that they would not suit anything over 2inch lift, and that they are not designed for such modifications. Admittadly i only have a 2 inch lift, but i have noticed other vehicles with these shockies on them, that have far more than 2 inches..
Was the info i recieved correct or not ..?

correct if you ordered them without mentioning your lift. they are available to suit many different height lifts, just have to specify at the time you order. mate of mine that gets them asks for full stretch, full compression and make/lift.

Mines got 6" spring lift and I've got the 9000's. There is a longer set again for a GQ but the new big barrel Rancho's XL9000 series come in extended lengths up to about 950mm.
What vehicle do you have? Maybe they dont come any longer for your model.

yes the info was correct for your vehicle. However there are other Ranchos that are valved for different applications which MAY be suitable for your truck with a lift greater than 2". I had very long Ranchos on my Sierra which were shocks made for dual shock placement on a Ford F250 I believe. I only ever used setting 1 or 2 and they weren't exactly right in the valving but for what the car was and what it needed they were fine

It's all about warranty. Big lift = no warranty. And as Grimbo said, the custom lifts (like mine) may need a shock of a specific length that may be on their catalogue, but the valving could be for a completely different application. The longer shocks must be pretty close to the correct valving, cause not many who have them complain.
Depending on your vehicle, a 2" lift will mostly use the standard length shocks anyway, so you should be sweet ;-)
