Hi guys, in my gq on the weekend I went to use my air locker and found the pump kept pumping and no locker. Once out of trouble I found that the brass fitting had snapped off at the housing. All I can figure is the diff has flexed up on the drivers side and the fitting has hit the sump.
Has anyone seen this before?
I am thinking of replacing the fitting with a 90degree one as straight on it is 2" long?
Should I lower the bumpstops to stop this?

Thanks Dave

If you are getting the diff to flex up to the extent that it's hitting the sump, do whatever it takes to fix that ASAP!! Extended bump stops, or lowering them, or fitting Adjustable bump stops, anything that is going to stop the problem! Not fixing it can be a very expensive pain in the wallet pocket!!

The day I can break anything off my diff housing with my sump, will be a day of celebration :) ;)

You must be getting some MAJOR flex up if its hitting, I would say a rock or stick has flung up and broken it off, But puting a 90 degree fitting on the would be the go anyway.
Try and get a bit of flex up and get out and see how close it is to hitting.

Let us know how you go, If it is hitting get a pic, I would love to see it

It's in bit at the moment so once I have it back together I will post some pics of it.
I think that this is the case because whilst on a hard climb previously I hit hit a large rock with a lot of momentum ( full throttle) and when I reached the top I could hear the compressor going. I found that the air fitting had punched a nice round hole in the line and a rub mark on the sump??? I could simply cut it off and reattatch it, the problem was fixed but this time it snapped the fitting off so it was a pull apart job.

Could you have just used an "easy out" to get the snapped thread out?

No it has a fitting on the inside that uses an olive to connect the copper line to the outside and rubber hose. I did use an easyout once that part was undone.
