ok, this is how i did it.. its by no means the only way to do it.. but i think the finish looks good and noone would know they dont belong there
first off, this is what the fog light assembly looks like when removed from the OE bumper

pull the frame off and the silver cover
all i did was cut off the false plate mounting lugs from the arb plastic fog lamp housing and dril some small holes and use 20mm wood screws to screw the fogs into the housing, nbe careful not to drill all the way through or it will end up coming out the front face.. you could also mount them to the steel bracket behind but that sits on an angle and i couldnt be bothered working out the geometry to get them sitting straight again.. this surface is straight to start with.

then i cut the back off the front cover to make it shallower (else it would be the most forward part of the bull bar.. not safe out there)

then i had to shape it to fit into the hole (its a bit too big) and made it follow the curves of the housing.. just used a sanding disc on an angle grinder
had to cut a notch out of the rear steel plate so the agle adjustment knob wouldnt foul on it

i thought the silver looked a bit pretentious on my black bar so i masked it up and gave it a few coats of matt black automotive acrylic.. (sand the surface first if you want the paint to stick.. i just used a red scotch brite pad to rough it up) and plug it back into the factory harness and they will work as before
