G'Day all
A quick question. I have ordered a JK Wrangler Unlimited and want to start getting some things sorted while waiting for it to arrive. As the Aussie $ is so high at the moment compared to the USD, was toying with the idea of importing some suspension from the US.
My question is would US Spec components be suitable for use (and reliable) in Aus? The Jeep will be doing a lot of offroad down here. Also, if it would be sufficient, what US Brands make the best (or better) stuff.
Of, second option, should I wait until some of the Aussie suppliers start bringing out some gear?
Advise would be appreciated.
Cheers

most of the stuff should be ok ie lift kits etc, things such as panhard rods to suit the lift are LHD specific.

Rancho has a lift kit available here in oz, TJM and ARB will have one soon. If anything goes wrong with an imported kit it will be a huge hasle waiting for gear.

If you don't support the local guys - there won't be any
but there is always a point of what is reasonable
JK not well supported here yet so will have to import till the arb's, rancho's, warn's, etc get there act together

When I have wanted parts from the US Wooders has been able to import them and sell them on to me cheaper than I could have got them from the US. I assume its coz he imports in bulk and then passes on the savings. Definitely try him first!!

yep i've purchased a few things from wooders too, i recommend him :)
I tell ya what, you'd be hard pressed to bargain a price down on a JK - they can't get enough stock. 2-3 month wait minimum, it's crazy but just shows how well Jeep hit the mark with this model :)
