2007 Grand Vitaras have a Hill ascent/descent switch hidden somewhere. Does anyone know where it is an how to disable it.

i had no idea they had one !!
why do you want to switch it off? ,
i thought this would only help off road.
do you have the 2door with no low range?

Maybe I am using the wrong words. My 5 door V2.7 Vitara will HOLD in a gear when motoring up and down hills. This is probably great off-road, but around the hills in my suburb it means that the Auto gets stuck in third on the hills and will not change up unless you make the engine scream! Very painfull on a cold engine.
(Small cars toot their horns from hehind me!)
I need to add a switch to disable this function around the city, but still use it offroad.

if its doing it only when cold, you will find that its normal, most if not every car wont shift into overdrive until its at normal operating temp

No, there is a device which detects the vehicles angle on the current model Vitara.
The device is probably a Mercury Tilt Switch.
Surely someone can tell me where it is and preferably know the wiring associated with it. i.e. vehicle wiring diagram.
