I have been on the hunt for a new 4wd for a few weeks now and I am blown away by the amount of overpriced and crap vehicles that are out there. I would love to buy a new 4wd but didn't think I could afford it until I saw the new Jimny Sport. It has airbags and some other nice features which put it up near the top of my 4wd list. What are people's opinions on this little fourby? Can it really go places the bigger boys can? Is it comfortable enough for long drives? Obviously storage space is limited but I can deal with that as I would be getting this purely for some fun out in the bush and on the beach with maybe one long trip a year. Can the car in stock form still be fun? Can I fit bigger tyres without getting a lift and doing guard mods? Any help is greatly appreciated. Also check this out, looks mint imo :thumb:

Are ARB lockers worth it on these things? What is the advantage of having them?

Lockers are great if you can afford them, I think airlockers while beign a great idea are a little overpriced. But like I said if you can afford it it's worth it.

if you want difflocks and can spend the money, then get them but i have seen a jimny with little allterains and a tuff dog suspension kit go further than 3 sierra's with welded diffs :D , stock or modified jimny's are a great 4b plus the owner was 6 foot tall and did long stints in the jimny all the time and loved it :D

Go for it, yep they do go everywhere, easy to mod but you dont need to do much, space isnt to bad an issue for only 2 people but you need to pack well, check out www.jimny.se - a site made for Suzuki Jimny and it's owners only (http://www.jimny.se)

Thanks for the input guys but one question hasn't yet been answered. Can I fit bigger tyres on the car without doing suspension or guard mods? Are better tyres a neccessity when going offroad or are the stockers up to the task? What tyres do you recommend on the little wheels? Thanks again for the input.

The tyres in that third pic would be useless offroad but the ones on the first two look like muddies, you can get some pretty extreme tyres these days in small sizes. Have a look at some of the simex sizes and maxxis sizes on their websites. You could run maxxis buckshot mudders, they are cheap and grip well, I have them on my sierra atm and they are great. What are the standard size tyres on them?

ive got 235 75 15 mt's with 1"body lift and about 60mm suspension lift very slight rubbing, i think you can go 215 75 15 with no mods, they give plenty clearance (dont forget, small car small diffs SWB)

The standard Jimny comes with 15x5 inch rims and 205/70 R15 95S tyres. Hope this help with the suggestions.
