Does anyone know if 15 inch wheels will fit (are legal) on a RA Rodeo? The reason i ask is it would open up a whole world of tyre choices, instead of being restricted to 2 brands. hmmmmm maybe some claws.......

I have seen 15inch sunnies fitted to RA rodeo's already. they do appear to be a different offset tho as they seem to sit out side the body work a little.

How is having 16" rims limiting you to two brands? Most 15" sizes have a similiar equivelant size in 16", if anything you get a greater range of sizes in 16's then you do in 15's.

The tyre rating on the Rodeo's are higher than for other models, hence the limited choice of tyres I have been told that Cooper are making some to suit so we will have 3 to choose from

What rating? Speed or Load? Speed rating isn't that much of a concern.
As for load, going to 15" is a backward step as 16" tyres are typically always rated higher.

Is that right??? I dare you to find ANYTHING smaller than 265/75 on a 16inch rim from companies other than cooper, BFG or goodyear. Yes there is more tyres sizes available for 16 inch rim but they are all 32" or bigger.
some MTZs would be nice or maybe those ones that pat was talking about in the magazine. Kumho have some knarly looking ones too
not to mention that i can get a 15 inch rim for $55 but the same rim in 16 inch is $115.

Hankook make their RT01 in 215/85R16, 225/75R16, 245/75R16 and RT03 in 265/70R16 without even trying to look to hard to find any others. Thats also sticking to M/T style tyres, step to A/T's and H/T's and their's plenty.
As for 16" steel rim prices, i picked up a set of GU Patrol 16x8's for free and the 16x7 Sunnies i have in the shed i got for $100 for the 4, plenty of cheap second handers about the place.

Like ya say ravo, if 15's clear the calipers it shouldn't be a problem if the tyres fitted to them have a load and speed rating thats equal to or better than for that vehicle.
There's also steering component clearances to consider Bazza:thumb:

My prado had both 245/70 BFG's (30") and 265/70 (31") Kumho's both very common sizes, both have a huge variety of brands and tread patterns available.
But if you do want to go 15", make sure you test fit first, I tried it when I first got my Prado, wanted to keep the wheels/ tyres from my 4Runner, but I would have had to take too much off the caliper, they usually fit 16" wheels standard for a reason.

I would be surprised if you can find a tyre with suitable load rating (and diameter) in 15".
