My mate wants to fit Maxxis Big Horns to his Surf the size of the tyrers ar 35x12.5x15, he want to know what size rims will he need?
As far as we can tell it has had a 2 inch lift.
They may even go on the standard rim?:truck:
Thanks for any advice given:thumb:

What do Maxxis specify for rim width?
Every decent tyre manufacturer will quote the acceptable rim width range for the tyre, and quote a tread width when fitted to a specified rim.
Eg. 35x12.5R15
Rim range 9-11"
Tread width 12.4" on 10" rim.
Check out Tires & Wheels - 1010tires.com the absolute tire and wheel authority (http://www.1010tires.com) it has all the information you will need on rim size etc.....

8" should be fine, but check tyre manufacturers guidelines first.

35's will scrub very badly if it's only (possibly) had a 2" lift, even 33's will scrub badly with just that amount of lift. Either that or the grinder is going to have to come out and start cutting bodywork. Unless of course he only drives in a straight line and never hits any bumps.
