after the shit thats happend this weekm ready to kick the shit out of someone, my spotlights were stolen right out the front of my house today at 2pm off of my carThey are shitty "trifa" lights from sup[ercheap. Thats not the point. its the point some cnut thought they deserved them more than me
If anyone in adelaide sees them tell me so i can put my steel caps in the face
The only recognisable thing i can think of is the little ssticker thats in the middle of the light was ripped off ages ago and left the paper stuff on the light.
These were taken from hawthorndene, just outside of blackwood.

cheers man, its not as if they were real good lights or anything, its just the principal
Its all a bit suss though,, where my cars parked theres two huge windows looking directly up at it. The thing is, my dog usually always barks whenever someone even walks past. At the time i was walking him so obviously he couldnt screwm his head off so no one in the house was warned. Someones either been sussing it for a while or its someone i know, cause its not as if you can exactly just rip them off, also, all the wiring has been ripped out too all the way to the fuse

thats what i thought, they could have stolen my UHF, my whole stereo, cd's, cigartettes lying in the console. And my aerial, all you have to do is unscrew it and its right there
if its someone i know theres only one person who it could be, if its them i can easily get every dude in blackwood to bash him. Everyones just waiting for an excuse
its just topped off what has been an sboloute shithouse week

Sounds like some one really wanted some new lights doesnt it, more valuable stuff available to pinch. As you said there not worth much and cant see even a stupid theif pinching them to sell to crime convertors so the odds are that they are for theirs or a mates car so either way theres a fair chance you will see them floating around on another bus .........Just think of the fun you can have getting them back off, start removing them with a suitable tool like a sledge hammer !!!

yeh, i will quite happily smash a baseball bat through everywindow if i found out whi it is. Im not a violent person or anything, but when i get angry its a diferent story, but stealing to me is the lowest. Why does someone else deserve it more than me when i worked for it?

just got a phone call from my brother. the badges on his commodore got stolen. Either lastnight at our place or in town or at his place. If it was at out house lastnight that elads me to think that maybe they saw my car and thought they would come back later

thanks for puttin that pic up adam, appreciate it eh.
Well i just figured out i should get roughly 700 from my tax return. So im tossing up wether to keep saving for suspension, or just blow 400 of it on some lightforce blues and save the rest for suspension

IMO do the suspension first, you will get heaps more benifit from a lift than lights, plus you can get some pretty good cheap lights for now any way plus some larger ones than the ones you had

yeh i know, its just i was planning on going lightforce sooner or later. And it'd be stupid to buy another set of spotties and then buy another set after. Depends what price i can get them for really, but definately though suspension will serve way more benefit than lights. I'd only get the lights if i could still budget to get suspension soonish

I would'nt be getting a new set of lights too soon as most of the time with a##holes like that is that they swipe your crap lights in hope that you will go out and buy a new better set and then come back at a later date when your least expecting it and then steal your new ones!!!! I put the money into your new suspension first and then get your lights later, you can always do a headlight upgrade which sometimes work just as good and then there is no chance of them stealing that without getting really tecnical!!!!:thumb:

bastards! friends o mine had their radios ( hf and uhf ) TWICE!! in the same street in 1 month. can imagine how peed off you are and must be itching to kick the daylight out o them! next time yu get lights, drill a hole through the nut and stud and put a lock thrue it, makes it just that bit harder for them to take them and is inexpensive fix.wil keep an eye out bud!
My spotties are a supercheap auto specials. Night vision I think they are called. The do an alright job and are way better than the standard high beams. Build quality not the best as the metal components are rusting but I've had them 4 years. Not bad for cheapies.

.....i know of a certified alarm installer who can do anything you want with a car alarm...... remote start for those cold winter mornings sounds good or maybe electrified bull bars are the future!!
I sorta had the same idea years back, after losing a couple of sets of (to me!) fairly expensive lights of the front of my car while I was parked at work! It was in the main street in a small town in the Adelaide hills, but no-one ever saw anything!!
So after the second time, the lights got modded a bit. They had a nice chrome steel casing, and got mounted on a big pad of conveyer belt rubber, so the casing was entirely isolated. There just happened to be some wiring that ran from the Aux battery into the steel casing, and I have been warned never to disclose what it did tho'!. But when someone came up and lent on the steel bull bar at the same time as touching the bolt for the light with an adjustable spanner, let's just say
"Sparks Flew!!"
The local boys in blue came to find me, and took me out to the car with grins a mile wide on their faces, before they told me they had the crim, (picked him up at the hospital) but that I'd better get the wiring off the car pretty damned quick, or they'd get in the goop for not doing me too!! The adj spanner was still there, the bull bar had a bluudy brilliant hand print burnt onto the paint, and there were arc marks on the mounting stud and nut, matched by arc marks on the spanner jaws!! :D
Never lost another set of lights, only every time the local boys in blue went past they'd just tap the lights with the night-stick, or summat, just to see if any sparks flew!! :thumb:
Now I must remind you all, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!! I was severly chastised for doing it, it is not a recommended course of action (but it still feels .... Oh, so sweet!!)

Have you reported it to the police? If not you should.
Chances are they are waiting to be sold or already on a shelf in some pawn shop or "crime" convertors store and if it's been reported and they turn up you can get them back.
cheers, sudso

I went out and bought some of those lock nuts for my spotties, i mean if someone really wants then they could probably get them off but it would take a lot longer than just a normal nut, well worth the $30 or so they were.

Its amazing what lengths some people will go to. I'm sure everyone has heard about the 4WD that rolled from 12m and some thieving barstards stole the suspension setup! How low is that..
Full story http://www.4wdmonthly.com.au/news/blog.php?id=10
I have had three genuine Suzuki Sierra fuel caps nicked in two years (words of advice: always lock em!), now i just use a plastic cheapy..
I have also had someone break throw the soft-top to jimmy open the glovebox (the only locking comparment in the zook), although i had nothing in there except for a few tools.

Yeh if you do decide 2 put the new spotties on b4 suspension, try and fit some sort of locking device, u cant trust some of them bloody southerners!!! I Definately like the idea of the electrified bullbar!!!!!!!:D

yep ive been a fan of longer bolts than neccessay say 2" longer then just use nylocs not many thiefs have the patience to undo 2 1/4" of tight nyloc with a shifter. as opposed to a normal nut. 1 turn and she's loose and finger tight. I dont know wether saying this new bit is going to help us against thiefs are educate a thief but anyway....IMO nylocing is a necessity as you dont most spotlights can be undone from the bar without a spanner (i can explain in a PM) it is quite simple so prevention is paramount

next time you get new spotties, weld them on. I hate to see my Roo lites getting stolen, But it'll never happen. Ill be sitting on my chair in the front of my house with a twin shot gun, waiting who tries to steel my Lights..
Humph, i dont get it, who the hell will try to steal a pair of spotties worth only $100. Makes no sense ehy?
Sorry for the incident mate, Looks like for some new big lightforce XGTs, They will never try to steel that of your bar.
Cheers

Ive heard nor seen nothing so far, ive learnt to live without them. Hopefully i'll have soom roof lights wired up soon anyway
thanks for all the replies
