Has anyone here done a 75 troopy to ute conversion?
Ive heard the chassis is abit longer on the troopy(about 150mm) so u can get a bigger tray on it. any truth in this and what else needs changing (apart from the cab obviously).

Chassis' are the same on a 75 series but the 79 series ute is 100 or maybe 150mm longer than the 78 troopy.
Basically they could not stretch the troopy body to suit a longer chassis.

Thats right. The 78 troopy is the same length as 75 ute & troopy.
Are you looking for more cab room or more tray? for seats or storage?
Its not hard to move tray back 1-200mm +
Do you have a troopy already or starting from scratch?
I have 600mm of extra cab (compared to ute) and 500 ext chassis?
Mine took 6yrs of dreaming.... 1 year of planning & investigating...... 2 months for the conversion.... 6 months to finish (seats, suspension, bars, tint etc)
I have lots of info

Who makes that kit and how much? Thinking my 75 series could do with a facelift and some more leg room

I live in Darwin and had it done in Perth.... Laingley Body Conversions..pricey conversion roughly $7,000 for body & $7,000 for chassis/drive ext.
Lots of conversion businesses around, not many interested in doing extra cabs... they want to do dual cabs, its easier.
Laingley's do a lot of various conversions for mines.. have to be tough

I do have a 95year 75troopy but what im trying to do is have spare tyres sitting between the cab and tray hoop.
That way i can keep them out of the tray and not mount them under the truck cause i want to keep my dual tanks while being able to have 2 spares.
Does that make sense?
