GDay Guys,

A bit of a strange question but thought I would run it past you.

A couple of weeks ago I put in a 2" suspension lift on my 91 DC Hilux and ever since then the braking performace has seemed to a lot worse than before the lift.

The on thing which has been changed is the suspension, the tyres are the same 31's BFG Muds.

Basically the problem is that there is no braking performance, you put your foot flat to the floor and the truck will come to a stop, although slowly, obviously changing down gears helps a lot, but sometimes if I didnt do this I would have hti the car in front.

Brake fluid is full, brake pedal doesnt seem more "spongy" than usual.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers

A suspension lift will always affect the braking to some degree but yours sounds bad.
Did you replace the shockies? I was wondering if the old shocks ,which are now sitting higher ,are "diving" when you hit the brakes.

Yeah I thought it may effect braking is some way but definately not make it this bad.

I did replaces the shocks, but i havent noticed any "diving" when breaking the new suspension is far stiffer than previously and working better than previous, it handles a lot better but as said the braking has suffered.

I was thinking I might have to get under and have a looks as i was thining perhaps I have stretched a brake line of something similar which could effect breaking???

Have a read of this 3 day old thread HERE (http://www.4wdmonthly.com.au/forum/f44/brake-probs-need-help-91-hilux-35336/) for things to check on another '91 Hilux!

Closing thread, and next time please be mindful of using a better title to your new thread please.
