I thought I will get the ball rolling!!!!!!!:waycool:
Will a cab off a Suzuki Stockman trayback fit onto the chassie of a SWB Sierra, if so has it been done before?????? Just thought it would be different!!!!:thumb:

yes it can be done and I do have some pics somewhere. However you run into problems with the rear wheels fouling on the rear corner of the cab. You also need to extend the wheelbase to make it worthwhile

Yea I want to stick with the SWB chassie but just want a single cab with a stumpy tray for the spare wheel and a toolbox. I was thinking of cutting off the back and joining it just where the back window starts to make it an extra cab but I thought to go a different cab as I'm starting to get some cancer in the seams cos of the salt air as I live on the coast!!!!

personally I reckon swb cut into utes look terrible. They end up looking stumpy and out of proportion. If you extend the wheelbase then they can look alright.

this is what one look slike. You can't run a tyre bigger than a 31" as it will hit the cab and it just looks goofy I reckon.

I reckon it looks pritty good (from that angle anyway) but would obviously be a pain with the tyr rubbing - speshly on cab
Any reason why u have to keep the wheel base short - wouldn't it be easier to use the stockman chassis and body

would the raer short canopy from a stockman fit on a normal swb soft-top?

I reacon it looks sweet!!!! I would have a shorter tray though but it would be very easy to take the bottom edge off the cab so it would'nt rub!!!!! The reason why I was gunna go that cab on my chassie was that I know of somebody with a good cab but a f#cked chassie and the cab on mine is getting a bit of cancer in the seams. Trust me I would love the longer wheel base!!! I was just having and thought thats all, something abit different!!!!!!!!:D

it would be very very hard to modify the cab to make itfit. The seat pretty much sits flat against the wall of the cab

Mate, great job.
maybe a inch or two longer wheelbase would be ideal.

Nice work, what tpe of tray are you gonna put on there, i was thinking if i were to do that i'd put a soft top rear section onto the tray area and it'd be like the ultimate stumpy tray.

i have looked at a hulux dule cab tub to cut up, but i think ill go with the plain old 2" RHS and checkerplate, will be a tiny tray tho! manily just for the exo, dule batt and a swag

I'm waiting for locktup to get driveshaft spacers from america. Chris is going to keep them in stock, he's gonna ring me when they arrive so I'll let you know. They were the cheapest I could find too at $40 to my door for a 1 incher.

more pics of the spring over conversion please - good work!! http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/images/smiles/icon_ruff.gif - i think cut the rear wall of the cab more on an angle down where the tyres are http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/images/smiles/icon_twisted.gif - looks a bit funny pointing out at where the rear wheel well used to be (but thats just my opinion)

Just a heads up but SPOA is illegal in QLD for Sierras. It can't be engineered or platd or whatever like in some other states
