Sorry Guys, a "damsel in distress" needs to know where the best and how to get the strongest recovery points on a D22 Navara ST-R. ARB and TJM here in ADL informed me that there is nothing on the market as far as rated recovery points for the above. The only 2 "viable" points are those that are welded onto the front part of the chassis. The use of a bridle to spread the load between the 2 points is highly recommended and I guess imperative. Anyone got any ideas??

Make some recovery points off the diff housings near to the shock mount area, I think land rover or range rovers have a kit that they connect up in this way, apparently the best recovery point on 99% of vehicles

Hey Mate i have an st-r and i had the same question.
i actually filed but the mounts a tiny bit towards the car so i could fit a rated D shackle in there.
i actually used it the other day just using 1 point at the front and it was fine but i wasn't stuck bad just the tow bar was deep in the ground.
but if i ever get really stuck im going to get my tree trunk protector and 2 D shackles and connect it to both points on the front of the car and run the snatch strap in the middle of it so the loan is spread between both points.

Hi Guys
After much searching for recovery recovery hooks to bolt onto my ST-R, I have finally found an easy and affordable solution. I got 2 GU Patrol recovery hooks from the wreckers ($15 each) and 4 M12x1.25 high tensil bolts, 4 large high tensile flat washers and 4 spring washers ($20). The hole spacing on the GU recovery hook is about 5mm short of the two captive nuts in the ST-R chassis rail so I elongated the round hole with a rats-tail file (Gu hook had one round hole and one elongated hole as standard). The hooks look stronger than the ones you get at 4x4 shops and didn't require drilling into my chassis so I am extreemly happy. I have only used them once and they worked fine.
Cheers
