Hi all does anyone own a BT50 or know anyone that does?
Mine has got a small suspension noise in the front and i was wondering what it could / might be. The car is only 1500ks old. It happens especially when you turn slightly and go over small bumps.
Cheers. :drink:

I wouldn't even waste my time looking for it.... if its only got 1500km on the clock take it back to the shop and let them worry about it..

I can fix it for ya, just take my old cruiser for an hours drive with all its noises and i garrantee when you jump back in your BT50 you wont here a thing just piece and quiet.
I was having a look at the 4by BT50's whilest picking up my dad after dropping off his 2wd BT50 and gee they look like a great truck, thinking getting one to use as a work vehicle.

THEY SAID THEY NEED 3DAYS TO FIND IT, IT ONLY STARTED HAPPENING AFTER THEY PUT THE BULL BAR ON, AND I DID AN ARTICULATION TEST. FRONT RIGHT OFF THE GROUND AND REAR RIGHT OF THE GROUND. :)

I would still be intrested in what it is when you eventally find out.
I thought it might be those big hoses going to the intercooler!!!!!!!

I bet it is the sway bar twisting within the clamp as it flexes within the rubber boot

(pole cat) I think its got something to do with the front torsion bar or spring or even something with the brake caliper as it only happens under braking hard at slow speeds, especially when turning. It will be a good one once we find it.

I had a similar squeek in the front of my BT-50 Freestyle Cab, and aparently it was the bullbar (Stock Mazda Bullbar) "Fixing Point" Bracket, rubbing on either part of the suspension or steering...
As this happend within the first 1000km service My local Dealer fixed the problem for free by "re working" the bracket... So I'd say get them to check it out.

Cheers Major.
It so happends that as i was walking past our BT I thought id try and flex the bullbar a bit and yes it does make the noise only on the RHS of the car and not on the left. I'll print this and show them what your's was. Thanks mate, i'll let you know how i go.
( how's the freestyle cab go? It would of been my choice but the missus and bub need to use the car as well )

So far so good, haven't had any troubles with it yet, took it for a run thru a local state forest fire trail, Watalgan State Forest near Bundaberg. Was pretty badly rutted out and rocky as hell with some pretty interesting climbs and woops across the road but the BT handled everything...
The freestyle cab is great for esky's and such, plus if u do have to put someone in the back u still can... just not, as u said a little bub in a baby seat unfortunatly...
I would also say that the Freestyle cab, being lighter in the ass, bounces around a bit more then what the dual cab does, having test driven the Dual cab when I was in the process of buying mine.
Mines the Frestyle DX+ by the way, SDX was a little rich for me, after market rims, look better too:thumb:

Hey guys if anyone was interested it was the bull bar, they had to tighten something where it was mounted. All fixed now.

I also had similar noise with my ranger (no bullbar), sounded a bit like a bush squeek in older falcons, but not as loud, if i pushed down on the drivers side guard i could hear it, and sometimes turning left, ford fixed it when it went back for it first checkup, but the missus never asked them what it was:crazy: .
Anyway, it hasn't come back.

As far as i know from what the dealer told me you can have a baby seat installed in the freestyle, there is a mount behind the cloth strip on the rear wall in the back.
I love my freestyle as its got a good size tray and i dont have to sit in the back seat
