Has your PDA got GPS as in like a Garmin Etrex or similar or just the output socket. It may actually be an input socket for an aerial?????????? from a GPS receiver. Most of them need a reciever as in a Bluetooth unit or similar
Waits for the flames:o
What type of gps receiver do you use for the imate because I don't think they come with it built in?

Well I didn't know that.
You could look at trying to get a bluetooth feed of the sat signal to the laptop. If the laptop doesn't have bluetooth then a dongle is pretty cheap these day. I don't know it it'll work as I'm not familiar with the built in GPS in the iMate but it won't cost you much to try.
