Was talking to a mate today that does fitouts on trucks about getting some lights for the front of the lux. He was saying that none of the truck guys will buy lightforce anymore because they keep falling apart :o Has anyone had any trouble with thiers as this is the first and only bad report i have heard about them. Now i am not sure whether to put 240s or hella ralle 4000s on the lux and the GU!

I was at opposite lock in adelaide a few days ago, and personally kicked their LF170 test unit around the car park.
this had the date of manufacure placed on the plastic by lightforce, and was 3 years old.
the only damage to it so far is scratches, it hasnt broken a single thing on it, in 3 years of being kicked around a car park by staff and enthusiastic customers.
I can tell you, next lights im getting will be light forces!

You see a lot more hella 4000's on trucks never seen lightforce on them myself. Gotta say something bout the 2.
if you go to a truck supply place you get the hellas heaps cheaper than at a car supply place due to the amount they sell

stick with the Lightforce, 1 auto elec in Toowoomba is a truck electrical specialist and they only sell lightforce.
have never heard of 1 bad report yet.
just take a look at the tuff truck video when Mark Cheesman rolled his GQ over with 4 on the roof and when it was back on it's wheels they still worked and not 1 was broken ;)

I can get either for around the same price, just want to get something that will last for a while! Mate reckons he puts hellas on every truck now.

My 240's are about 3yrs & 100,000km old. Haven't even blown a lamp! They've been across the Simpson 3 times.

If you are looking at the LF lights checkout the actual performance difference between the 240's and the 170's from my experience the 170's are not for behind the 240's and are a lot easier to mount behind a bar. Granted they don't look as agressive.
I had one leak a while ago and contacted them. Well they replaced em with the newer model and even paid all the postage and I didn't even have my box or receipts. I think it is safe to say that they don't often have problems but LF is glad to back their product up ;) btw, they are 240's
I KNOW A FEW BLOKES THAT USE THE LIGHT FORCE BRAND AND IVE NEVER HEARD A BAD WORD SAID ABOUT THEM
