I went to ARB on the weekend, never liked going to the place but it was a new location so I thought I would try it out. Walk in look at fridge sales person asks can I help, I said looking a buying fridge going on trip in a month.

Sales person says that is what we sell, (points to it) says same as engel, I ask how much he opens book and quotes price. I ask if there are any deals going like waceo deal. He says might be able to do me a bag with it for half price but that is it. He hands me a bag with crap in it and I leave.

Got home after buying a waceo at boots camping, great service they had this engel deal and showed it to me, offered a bag as well. I opened the bag the ARB guy had given me and the same broucher deal fell out. The sales person at ARB did not even tell me about it.

I honestly believe ARB gear is good gear, the problem I have found------ personally------- is that some of the sales staff do not understand the customer, fair dinkum how some of these guys got through the interview process is beyond me. I have on the other hand spoken to some excellent staff at various ARB stores. They say in their advertising that their guys are just as much into their 4wdriving as we are????

I do believe their gear is quality gear and will last if fitted properly. I had an excellent experience at ARB in Rockhampton, the blokes just couldn't do enough and the fitment of the gear was first class. Other stores I will never walk into again.

To go to TJM though over ARB because your more 'serious' about 4wdriving is a bit rediculous to me though, both are excellent in my opinion.

In my book I couldn't care about discounts etc etc.......if they have customer service followed up by excellent workmanship second to none they will always get my dollars.

These days though customer service and quality fitment is becoming harder and harder to find.

Yeah well from past experiences with arb and also knowing staff members from arb they are just not in2 like serious comps n shit. Eg: i went to ARB and told them what i want to do with my truck as in lifting it and they were shocked, "Geez why would you lift you truck that high"..etc
And it wasnt even as high as some serious trucks out there.
I also know sum1 who has left ARb to go work for TJM because they dont know enough about serious 4wd's.
Thats just from my experience.

Thermometer 7 Stubby holders would be handy, rest of the stuff is "freebie" crap to get you to buy the fridge.

How bout knocking $285 off the price instead.

Freebies are great, if you were going to buy them anyway - otherwise more junk in the shed IMO.

Ever thought they were more concerned about the legal and safety side of what you wanted. I've been going to ARB for nearly 20 years and never had a problem. Oh and by the way, the reason you gave about that person leaving isnt quite right so you should probably check your facts before mouthing off.
Rant over.
