Gday, my brother just gave me an ipaq HX4700 with tomtom already on it. I need a bluetooth gps unit for it tho. Did a bit of a search and seems the qstarz unit is favoured. Are they the best to use?
Im looking on ebay and wondering why the price seems to vary from $69 to $109 for what seems to be teh exact same unit?

I've had a qstarz for a few weeks now and it's great. Highly recommended.

PJ.zook,

The reason for the different prices is usually the shipping from hong kong, if they are the indeed the same unit carefully calculate the different costs involved in shipping, you may be surprised. Otherwise most of these units are essentially the same, the chipset in each of the recievers is the important part, most are SirfStarII or SirfStarIII but there are a couple of others out there.

The really important thing the check is the sensitivity rating as far as I can see the qstarz' is -158dBm and the SirfStarIII is -159dBm so roughly the same. What this equates to is how little signal is necessary for the GPS to keep an active lock on the satellites.

Do a Google search for Ram mounts. They're probably the best around.
