looks the goods mate, how do you find those tyres are on road or are they just for play?

Are you sure they are 285's or 265's? was that a mis print by any chance because they dont look big enough to be 285's?
I gotta pic of the same model prado with a 3" lift and 285's and they really fill the guards up.
Not knocking your ride, just wondering - I got a soft spot for prado's, kicking myself for not getting one at the time I bought the hilux

Very cool, the big chunky tyres make such a huge difference to the look of the Prados.

They look to be 285's to me.
I have 265/75R16's on the same GU Patrol rims on mine/wifes Prado and they don't fill the guards as much as those.

then again, it does look kinds the same-
Hey Plado, what suspension brand and lift you got working on your rig?
Is your V6 or turbo diesel?
How does it pull with the bigger tyres on it?

They are 285 x 75 x 16 silverstones .They are my road tyres they seem to handle well on the road even in the wet.I run bilstein front struts and efs rear shockers with lovells springs all round.

The giveaway is the spare, it's just about touching the rear bumper, 265's don't go near it.
That's Shaun Green's Prado, from 90scool, he's done heaps of work to that, it sits roughly 50mm higher than mine.

looks like i got some work to do:D. Has anyone noticed that tundra's in the states have the same front end set up as the prado's? you can get 3-5 inch lift kits that bolt on!
taresk
06-06-2007, 03:42 PM
The Tundra's look the same, but they've got a much wider track (they're the size if an F100), what you should look for is 96-02 4Runners.

nice prado mate, wanna get hold of some 285's for mine for trips!! are they patrol rims?? do they scrub anywhere?? if so where? thanks
V6Plado
15-06-2007, 07:19 AM
Yes they are patrol rims . The tyres rub on the mud flaps on the front when on full lock, on the back they rub on the inner wheel well when fully flexed up.
