Wondering what others think here.
I have a 2.4 litre diesel Hilux, non turbo, and I want to put 33" tyres on it. The 2.4 isn't the most gutsy motor around so I'm wondering, will it have enough guts to push the tyres around off road, especially uphill????
Thanks in advance.

You'll be fine off road, I had an 82' 2.2d Hilux with 33"s was all good in the bush and walk up any hill. It's the on road performance you'll miss.

yer the little 2.4 lux will push 33 around easy but it will start to struggle with a bigger tyre

i reckon it will be slow as hell on the road
we had a 2.4 turbo. on 30"s it struggled up hills
towing a trailer we nearly needed to put it in low range (steep hill tho)
