hey all, i am new to the gps scene, never used one other than for fishing, although a mate has one and it did get us out of trouble more than once.any way i am looking to get into the comp scene, i was told to get a gps/chart plotter like a fx324, i have learnt that these are currently no longer available.
i need a chart plotter for comp work, now is there a chart plotter that is similar in feautures to the magellan fx324 and has tracks/maps as well as street's that can be loaded on to it.Not just marine maps, i am looking to permanantly fitting to the cab of the truck, any help on this subject would be great.
Thanks,Duane.

mate, you'll find that most (even the basic) GPS' will "plot" your waypoints in the way you need for comp work.

It really depends on how much you want to spend. In terms of accuracy - Garmin and Magellin are only accurate to 10m (despite what they quote on the unit). Trust me!
But if you want to spend a few more $$$ i can source more high accuracy gear for you (PM me if you want) though I doubt it will make a difference in terms of getting you there quicker.
