little hole my ass

here we are just thought i would kill some time b4 mothers day tea rang my mate and said lets go play in some mud he said yep sweet headed up to coxs scrub didnt think there would be much mud got up there went through a little bog hole no probs cross the creek no probs up the hill no probs got to this bog hole i knew it was a deep hole but thought o well asked my mate what he thinks and he said charge it windows up hesitated for a second low range second gear bang hit the water got 3 quarters the way across then wouldent go any further drooped down to 3 cylinders tryed backwards forwards wouldn't go got just out of the deep bit then it died mate had his feet on the dash bord water was level with the seats now i was running at"s tyres and the back diff is locked so here's a perfect example that at"s are crap for mud if i had my mickey Thompson on would of gone strait throught sorry bout the spelling and the 4by is on the side of a main road the bloke in the photo with the land cruizer towed us out he didnt want to risk going through it he towed us for ages to the main road good chap then gave us a lift to mt compass then walked to the bottlo brought a 6er while we waited for a lift the engine is full of water chockas i just got home then so much for a little triphttp://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t205/4runner4_2007/Image093.jpg

yeh i completely avoid that hole after last time i went thru, doesnt look too deep it's just got massive ruts in it. Heres a pic of my GQ stuck in there last winter. Had to give gumby a call to come rescue me. I thank my lucky stars the door seals held up for a good hour and i maged to get out with not a speck of mud inside the car! I reckon if your gonna tackle that hole, walk it and find where the part in the middle is and put your right wheel on that and left on the edge and just walk thru it. Notice the footprints on the bonnet, the water was REALLY COLD!

yeah it did keep all the water out i just got it home a little bit ago it some how got a tiny bit of water in it which was in side the cap none in the oil when i dropped it. it may have gone up the exhaust some how cos it ends at the muffler under the driver seat all it was 1 cylinder wasn't firing i had covered the dizzy in silicone to try n stop this but as i just found out it got water in it and could not get out cleaned it up and its running like a dream until next time. it lasted longer in the water than usual so it worked for a bit the tires let me down just spinning in the mud :thumb:
