I told the bosses wife that i'm "competing" and i need to get up there ;) Told the wife i "NEED" to get that intercooler and the tune up for the same reason ;D
Lachie, I will take mine in that comp(if not sold) if you haul it up and back and compete also and I doubt that is gunna happen because one of us will end up rolled ;D

Here are a few Teazer pics of some of the stages for the Put Up or Shut Up Event.
This is going to be some of the most spectaculare driving ever seen in Aus. If you like Crusty's Demons of Dirt than this is going to be the 4 wheel equivalant.

BTT & yes I am showing bias - but I run most of the events at the park for fun & to introduce new players to the sport.
Most events are low key events where a standard 4by can be used. Not the PUOSU tho!!!!!!

I'm doing the 2005 Calendar over the next few weeks.
Won't be any big events for the rest of the year, 2004.
Main focus is Queen's Birthday - Interstate Challenge! 2005.
Also plans for XRCC & PUOSU Rock Crawling - we want Rover Park to be the centre of extreme rock crawling in Oz.
Is there any chance you can organise for next year so there's not as much crossing over of events? For example the 4-5 Sept has the short course up at LCMP, and this date has been posted publicly for a long time.. So in the end people have a choice of one or the other.. I wouldn't mind attending both, but due to the conflict myself and plenty of other competitors/spectators don't get a choice..
I'd like to see Rover Park succeed and do well as it has all the makings of a great park, but these conflicts are quite annoying.. We don't have enough events as it is without running them all on the same weekends as each other..

Link, your point is well taken.
Rover Park, as the "new kid on the block" has tried to steer clear of conflict with other Events which could conceivably be aimed at the same market.
The event on 4/5 Sept is aimed at the mud lovers, esp. "The Mud Junkies" from the lower Clarence area, & those who used to enjoy the "Mud Drags" @ Emu Creek. I believe the Short Course competitors @ LCMP would probably not be interested in what we are doing on that weekend. (We probably should have avoided it anyway).
The only date that is set in cement as far as Rover Park is concerned is Queen's Birthday Weekend. Neil Lennard did great things at Emu Creek & I think that it is fair for this area to claim a continuation from those days.
Avoiding V8 Super Cars, Indy, Mothers Day, Easter (more motorsport than any other weekend in the year), Christmas, Grand Final weekends etc. etc. doesn't leave a lot of spare weekends.
Any input we get from other Parks & Promoters will only help us all to work together!

I'm a short course competitor, and I'm interested in what's going on.. It's great to take a break from all the rock bashing, breakages, thinking, etc and just cut loose for a bit of muddy fun once in a while ;D
I guess it would be a pita though to organise these things so they don't conflict.. But when they don't, you'll most likely see me down there having a crack ;D

I recon a lot of 4WDers are keen to watch or participate in all forms of the sport.
Its always difficult to organize a calendar but if theres a choice then different weekends would be much better.
I choose a few events I want to watch then attend those, if the few I want to see are all on the same weekend the decision gets much harder.

Link,
People like you who love our sport like I do make it all worth while.
Aside from Rock Crawling, Rover Park will only ever run events aimed @ the family 4WDriver, in fact the new slogan is "ROVER PARK - Home of the family 4WDriver".
This is done deliberately so that you can come down & let your hair down outside the "full on" comp scene.
Noone could ever consider our muddy Drags as serious "Motor Sport", but we have invested in proper Christmas Trees & electronic timing, with reaction times & everything! So we do our fun properly.
We also try to align ourselves with committed, professional people like Dave Metcalfe & the O/Limits Crew. Adrian is so professional!

Oktober long weekend.........MORE MUD.
However, because our friend and comrade BLU is off on his annual dessert binge, Hans & Heidi need 3 volunteers.
1 for starting, 1 for times keeping & 1 for MC. Because I have to work the saturday morning I cannot possibly be there until 2pm at the earliest. Otherwise I'd do one of these jobs. If anyone is interested pls let us know.
It'll be another awesome weekend....as usual.
Cheers.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am going to Rover Park for the NSW long weekend. Saharaperson, his wife & children, joined Hans & myself today to plot an 'illclimb.
We've used the LCMP concept of side by side tracks, but with a wicked twist.
Our Christmas Tree will be in action to ensure even starts & we will video the event.
From now on, within a week of the event, you can have a DVD (or VHS) showing how well you've done.
Won't be a big production, but will only cost about $12 per copy. (Hardly worth Pirating, is it?)
