Try some of the jap engine import places. They bring in front cuts and you can buy factory style intercoolers for around a couple of hundred bucks. The nissan bluebird ones are supposed to flow pretty well and are really easy to mount as are relatively small.
I'm basically after one that fits on top of the motor and then look at ways of getting air into it in low range...... the front mounted ones are i'm told a pain in the ass to fit, especially if there is little room there for it......... as for wreckers, none will part with one separately....... and usually only sell them with the engine/turbo :-\ There has to be a cheaper alternative

i spoke to a guy in Gunnedah today...... he can custom build one for between 500 bux and a grand, depending on what i want. I didn't think of ebay hehe ;D

PWR (Paul Weel Racing) does a range of stock i.e. off the shelf intercoolers. Wide range and sensible pricing.
I've got a water to air setup off an old Legacy GT that could be adapted.
BTW - when Sven Stollberg, (Ekky's other son) used to run (&win) his old HiLux @ Emu Creek, he used to surround the I/C with dry ice..........worked a treat!
Tony you can pick up awesome deals on intercoolers the size that you want on ebay. I won one off a 200sx that was perfect size for the lux for $50.

i saw some of those there..... the pipe configuration was wrong though...... which means it would still cost to have the tanks replaced....... that could still be a cheaper option. I'm not sure what to do
Just have to wait until the right one comes along. I watched and waited for about 2 months until I found one with the eight dimensions to fit on top and with inlet/outlet on the ends. BTW, I didn't pick mine up because it was an agter auction deal and he stuffed me around otherwise I could have moved it on to you I guess.
what surprised me more than anything was the price of a bonnet scoop once the intercooler is fitted!! 1,200 bux for a genuine rodeo one....... 60 bux for a Nissan one..... i don't know how they can justify that difference!!
I guess it comes down to three letters ;D ;D

you can set up windscreen washers to aim at it too to cool it down... most of the top end rice rockets do that...

could come in handy for over the motor...
i saw that one last night..... the only probs is the pipes need to be facing out each end which means i will have to get the tanks replaced.... :-X i'm beggining to think that it would be better to get one made, that way it will fit properly, and it's installed..... from about 500 bux! i think it may not be the cheapest option, but looks like the best option.

looks like you could unbolt it and turn that one around

you can........ but i need the pipes to be facing out from the ends...... not coming from underneath like they are....... i don't have that much room above the motor unfortunately :-\
