My brother-in-law smashed his crown wheel and pinion on the weekend and was wondering if any one has one or knows of one avaliable. it is the front IFS diff from a 2000 3ltr TD hilux. Any help would be apreciated.

ive got one in the shed at home, only one problem though its missing about 8 teeth. no one sells after markets for the ifs, i rang places all over the country, your only option is toyota genuine $590 that is trade price, alternatively keep an eye out in the trading post, i picked up a complete diff with both CV joints, 2 shocks, pitmann arm and steering links from a bloke that had done a live axle conversion on a 4 runner, cost me $350.
i have also heard that late model corollas run the same diff in their rear end, i havent been able to confirm this as yet, but even if this is the case the crown and pinion ratio would probably be different.
good luck with fixing it, ive replaced 3 of the damn things in three years, unfortunately they are just a weak diff..

Sounds like u need a good dentist. We have found someone who imports an aftermarket one and sell the front and rear for about $850. The trading post sounds like a good idea

the after market ones that you found, do you have to get both front and rear together or can you get them seperate
also could you let me know who the importer is, just in case i kill another one...

Not 100% sure as it was my brother-in-law who found them but I will try and find out. He has since mentioned the 3lr TD ratio is diferent and he is unsure weather or not the correct one is avaliable. Will keep u posted
