Where is the best spot to buy these rock crawlers? Are any of these shops on line?

Don't know about QLD, but there are two good hobby stores in Newcastle.

i dropped into a hobby shop today and they said that most of these rock crawlers are custom made from bits and peices.

Yes in the link you provide there home made welded chassis with gear boxes and diffs added etc...the close'st you can get of the shelf is something called the tamiya rock buster tlt-1 i think it is...do a ebay search there on there for reasanable price otherwise check out the tamiya f350 highlift...there all electric wich is the only way to go for roack crawlers.

Front line hobbies has the wheel king I didn't think it could be used for rock crawling, but after using google I found out these can be built into a rock crawler. Below is review of the wheely king and if you go to the forum there is heaps of info on how to convert it to a rock crawler.

try this link for the cheapest hard core rockcrawlers. The price is almost 1 tenth of some of the other fancy looking bling kits.

however you will need to add somes diffs, body and wheels. oh and some radio gear and batterys, motors, shocks, then you will need a charger. BUGGER hey.
