I want to install some topo maps onto my laptop and wondering where the best place to get them from would be, and what type of other maps would be good to put on there.Do these maps come with the software to run them or do I need to purchase some other software, and if so, what is the best to get, and where from.
Sorry about all the questions, but just trying to wrap my head around all of this computer stuff.

Mate I have been running the NATMAP raster DVD's and have found that they are excellent. 1:250.000 of all of Australia
The are available through Geosciences Australia for about $120.
You will not need software to use the maps as it comes with the map viewer.
