I need to buy new bedding for camping in a tent and was wondering what you guys use. I have used airbeds and don't like them coz they are cold, deflate and when i move the missus gets flung off. :D
I am looking at the 10cm thick self inflating foam mattresses (spelling) anybody use them?
any other ideas? I am looking for a goodnight sleep and already have a swag.
thanks guys!
We use a couple of those Hi density el cheapo laminated foam mattress things under the swag ... "Earth Mats" I think they're called:cool:

you can't beat a self inflating matress i reckon. we have a queen size one that we use in the tent and it's been to fraser several times and also went up to the cape and back with us. it has a vinyl like underside but a velour / felt type top on it which helps keep the cold out. best thing i have slept on for a good nights sleep when camping.
try and find a camping store that has a few different brands and try them out as we found some of the brands weren't as firm as others, and you were likely to hit your arse on the ground when you sat on it.

2 of my cousins have got these ones called 4wd mats, theyre like 5 inches thick and theyre warm as. Bit pricey though. Wish i had one!
I bought 2 x 5cm self-inflating mats from anaconda when it was on sale for $49 each :)

for kid the best beds I think are the wild country strether style. They fold uo no bigger than chair in a bag, there is no risk of a stretcher going flat. The only annoying thing is the pillow sliding off the end when your asleep!!!
