Mine would have to be anywhere there is no crowds. Last year at the Flinders there was not a soul in the campground in the national park gee it was quiet and dark. Compared to Wilpena Pound where there was school gruops and lots of People
Anywhere in the high country is a another of my favourite camping areas the views are amazing

We don't really get to go out much but for me it's Rover park, lots of people at events but plenty of quiet times in between.
Went there for our honeymoon and there was only one family. Nice n quiet...

Had the best time as a teenager & early 20's at 5 Rocks.
I basically grew-up at Fraser Is.
Both are unfortunately now more restricted to what they used to be but are still probably 2 of the best places in QLD.
Another place that is very tranquil is Stoney Creek.

I would say
1) Lake Cotharaba. We usually camp at Elanda point so the mrs has amenitites. We were there a month ago and there wasn't another camper for the whole week. Just LOTS of kangaroos i was tripping over them.
2) Fraser beach. The beach campsites are soooo clean and white compared to say double island!

It was a while ago now, when i was a kid we traveled oz for a couple of months every year, the best place was camping at the base of Ayres rock, waking up and looking at the rock first thing in the morning was something i will never forget.
Something else i will never forget is a guy shooting at us in the middle of nowhere out the back of the northern territory, that was probably the worst place. We felt a lot safer a few days later when we heard that he had been arrested, makes sleeping under the stars allot easier , all those things that go bump in the night...

Earlando near Proserpine, right on the reef over looking a few little islands, had some rippa fishing there, but it has since closed due to Marine Park rezoning which effectively shut him down overnight, was a top little caravan park.
Kinkoona, just south of Bundy is nice, same as Double Island and Fraser as far as beach camping goes but a lot less people, and only 1 hour from home

River Road Bridge campsite in the middle of Karri country out of Pemberton.
Anywhere along the beach along the south coast in the D'Entrecasteaux national park - feels so wild, remote and desolate and its rare you see many others down there along the 100km or so stretch of coast.

The campsites in the national park around pemberton were my favourite. Then it all changed and some trees were cut down, and it made it look as though someone had cleared a spot to camp, instead of it being a bit more natural.
