Welcome to the newest section of the Australian 4WD Monthly forums -- The Campfire. Bring your chair, grab a cold drink and come in here and talk all things camping -- be it camping gear, where to go, current campground closures or anything.
Enjoy!
 sniff sniff ... don't smell any smoke ...

What is it about a campfire that draws everyone in. It can be 40 degrees and we'll still stand next to the fire and talk crap! If only I had one at home right now I'm sure I'd end up with a few blokes around to help me drink my beer! :D :D

Just went over to their campfire for a few seconds. Looks like it went out years ago and wasnt very inviting. 4wd monthly have just lit their own camp fire, only better.

If you have an abundance of wood but its all damp then try the liberal application of diesel to hurry things along. NEVER use anything else or you will get more than you bargained for. The diesel burns longer and before long it will have dried things out and you will have a nice blaze going. Then its a matter of settling back to crack a few coldies and enjoy the fire

Hi i am only new here but have learnt a lot since been here so i have to say thanks but this is my rigg that i have set up as it only cost us $5 as we found most of the stuff like the drum, Flue and hot plate with our local Kerbside pick up.19342
19343
19344
Found a BBQ hot plate does the job.as you can see in the photos i have changed the flue do to it got a little bit hot so the solder melted, the next task is to put in a spit as the hot plate can be removed with ease.
