Im thinking of towing a caravan with an overall length of around 26` and weighing in at around 1.75 ton.........with either my 74 FJ40 or my 81 BJ40 for a journey of around 900 miles,[from UK to southern Spain].
Am I mad or would you do it?
Regards
John

You would probably be better off doing it with a long wheel base as it will handle better, but the shorty should do the job.

i thought you lot sorted out that mad cow problem ;D
seriously,i wouldn't do it with a shorty unless it was
fully set up for the job. a van that size would cause havoc
on our goat tracks.dont know what the roads in your part of the world are like, best of british luck if they're anything like ours old chap
Thought all you Brits had Rangies

From the land of the long white pom to southern spain would be good quality freeway all the way so no probs from that point of view. But with Ryan Air doing flights for about 10 quid I'd fly and spend more time drinking and chasing chicks on the Costa Del Plenty.
I drove 17000km over 14 weeks with camper trailer wife and 3 kids and you want ME to say whether youre mad
!!!!
