This can be done with the free G.E. by using a tool from GPSBable
Download the latest free edition (1.2.3. ) .. Create a short cut to bable on your desktop, for easy access. There is a tool in the folder, called (gpsbable gui).To be used when converting G.E. kml language to your gps language. Open G.E. Select the route you have mapped out and saved into My Places ,click the + sign to open the file, tick the box to open all the waypoints in the route. R/click the name of the file, >..Save as . Change save as type to kml..>save Tip.. Save it in GPSBable so it can easily be found when required . Reduce G.E. to task bar..Open gpsbable, find the new GE kml file with its name.. Open the tool (gpsbable gui).A drop down menu appears , In the Input section ,change format to (Google earth keyhole markup language). In the file box. Click the start file open Icon , find and click your GE kml file, it will enter its address into the file text box.. Go to the output section and change the format to ( eg. MagellanSD files as for Meridian).. Click the start file open Icon, a drop down menu appears, type in the name of your route in the box>save. Its name will enter the file box.. In the (What section) Tick the Waypoints box.. Then click the Let's Go button..(OK) the successfull kml to Magellan box..Close that window. Find the converted file in bable, hilite the file and then copy it to an SD card. Install the card to your gps. Go to card utilities> Load waypoint route..Will show the name of the route, click on name ,this will load all the waypoints to the user waypoint list in correct order of the route. Connect the gps to the PC. Open DAST > Waypoints on the tool bar> download from gps, drop down box will show progress, loading all waypoints to wpt list in the right column and map screen .Zoom or pan to see route on map. From here you can build a new route in DAST and save it . Or it can be direclty created manualy from the waypoint list in the gps.. From there it can be uploaded back into the SD card, where it can be activated on your gps map screen. If anyone needs info on how to build the route ,and to upload it to gps I will start another post.. Les

This is part of a waypoint route I created in GE of the West Darling River road and converted to Magellan and saved it in card utilities.
