They mentioned that the Yandina Gymkana was on the Queens Bday Long Weekend out at LCMP last weekend, so thought I'd see who's planning to go.
It's a bugger the Forum meetup at Rover Park is on the same weekend but.

Yes I will be there, have been every other year, but I am going to enter this year.
It will be my first time I have entered in a offroad event so should have some fun.
Went out to offroad expo 2004 for a look see first time to, and will be entering next year.
Did not see you out there, and couldn't even get you on UHF 39, sorry.
Will be on UHF 24 at Yandina so give us a yell, and maybe you can give us a few pointers on getting a 2 1/2 tonne truck around a gymkana track quick as.
They have a class for 2.9 L and under, so I will be in that class. I will be running against zooks ect so will have to flog the crap out of it and get big air over the first jump.
SOUNDS LIKE FUN SEE YOU THERE !

i wouldn't mind racing at that either but it's getting a bit close to the short course champs round 2 so i'll be busy getting my rig ready for that. i said to myself last year that i'd be racing in it this year but i'll have to put it off another year.

We had the handheld with us on 39 most of the time. Actually some time during the weekend, can't remember when, we were told to get off 39 as they were using it for competition use, so that could have been why?? Will deffinetly catch up at Yandina :D
Is there a website or anything for it that lists the events and classes??

It's at Yandina ;D
You come up the BRuce Highway and take the second Nambour exit so you come in past the touch footy ovals and have Barnes High Performance on your right. When you get to the lights and have toyota on the opposite corner head straight ahead and keep following that road till you see all the trucks......
I think I got that right, there's usally signs up too I think....
Someone correct me if I'm wrong ??? I was wrong, see MUDLUX's post below....I was drinking the whole time I went to it last year and the missus was driving, whoops!!!

Very wrong twisty he will end up at Mapelton that way.
Go the next exit north { Coolum/ Yandina exit }follow into yandina [signs} straight through the lights [ only set ? ] follow to T & turn left {west} this is a winding road that goes to Coolooibin dam but u will see a s/load of trucks before u get that far {approx 6 km from Yandina}.
Now it's $10 to watch and $20 to compete. If competing the nomination tent will be open friday night and early Sat morning, u can nominate for all events if u wish, but to enter u must get a extended CTP insurance cover for racing, from your nominated CTP insurer on your rego slip, also u need to wear a helmate.
If u drive a soft top u need a cage. They also do a saftey check.
For any more info, or to check if this info is correct, phone the above numbers from my previous post.
Thanks for the offer for a helmate Twisty I will keep it in mind if I can not get one, the cheapest one at Cash Converters was $120.

As long as there are 4 black round things under you & it still runs, keep going.
If that changes, then I guess you will stop :P

i don't know if the mad pajero driver will have his rig back on the road in time. it's a super charged 3l V6 running nitros apparently. i heard he cracked the block at LMP the other weekend. just a little to much boost. he gives that thing a canning and he can't kill it. well almost not kill it. he has bent a few steering arms doing this though.
Go the PAJERO. :D

Ok after the first day I almost put the lux on it's roof, wen't to fast into a corner and up she went right to the point of balance, before crashing down to earth.
What supprises me is I still floged it for the rest of the course, must have been the adreilin rush or something. Can't wait for todays racing to start, I'm hooked.
