Heres my baby,
Shes pretty mild at the moment. 2" EFS lift kit, craphouse 31" tyres. Looking at some 32" muds pretty soon ( most likely MTR's )

I barely drive it through the week, weekends Im either at straddie, Bribie or at my local play area....getting bored actually I might head there this afternoon ;)
Dont have any action shots because Im usually driving at the time :P

She has 2" suspension, 2" bodylift, 1" balljoint lift and diff spacers, 33's (soon to be MTZ's), 210L fuel capacity, aftermarket turbo, underbonnet shower (works a treat the morning after a big nite around the campfire.) etc etc Waiting for the prolockers to arrive and they'll be on it also. Cheers

I'd love one of those Kaymar rear bars with rear wheel carrier, but they are so expensive.

this is a mates rig up in darwin, this is an old foto with the 37" on he now has 40" tyres on it now, he also had a blown 3.8 v6 in it, produced over 400hp. its got custom gaurds, custom tailgate, custom internal roll cage, custom front bar, custom custom custom, enjoy.

Just got some 32" Maxxis bighorns fitted today. Havent had a chance to try them offroad yet but they are so much quieter than my worn AT's and handle much better as well!

Its a little slower off the mark but cruises along much nicer. Also found that I had a slight buckle in the rear rim ( its now the spare ) so that fixed even more of my vibrations

I wouldn't mind building one of these one day (but higher and more offroad orientated. It's a SWB hilux by putting a single cab body and extra cab tub onto a 2nd gen 4runner chassis. Wheelbase matches perfect, all it would need would be a coiled bundy front end grafted on instead of the IFS.

sorry guys, but im all about the old skool stuff, this is my slave; 2" suspension lift, 31X10.5R15 Simex Centipedes, and thats bout it, evrything else is stock, wana get some high-clearance fenders tho. found a place in canada who makes them.

i feel a bit better about my lux now.... we went hill end-sofala-zig zag and found lots of mud :) the pic of a mate in a 4 runner going through the puddle...... the puddle in front of him in the pic turned out to be really deep.... i was the only one to go through unscathed

Got one for ya's this is her shortly after i got it, since then have fiberglass flares and i have a set of 31 at's looking close to bald for fun in the shed. Also scored sr5 chrome rims that aren't fantastic but look better than the old ones lol.

Phew pics of the 4runner from this morning.....swapped the Fj's 15x10 Classic II's and 35x12.5 TrXus MT's lats night so I can do some wheeling next weekend at Rover Park without having to worry about damaging the 17s. I love how it looks with the 17s on it, but fark is looks TUFF with these on!

had a bit of a day trip to crystalvale 4x4 park just outside Murbar NSW today. What can I say the place is a bog hole, thers a few good hills but ther all clay and I found myself sliding down faster then I drove up more then a few times. Its the kinda place that if it starts raining u get out of ther or ull be stuck for a week. Overall was good fun to get her dirty till the starter shat it.

this is ChunkyCharcoals run through the rocks. I think he managed to get a placing for it as well. He just keep on going, didn't lose his momentum. Put a little hole in his raditor though.

I've been helping a mate do some work on his Hilux.Well a full rebuild really.
It's going to be a weapon when it's finished.
Holden V8 on GAS, Supra turbo 5 speed, Landcruiser rear with Hilux axles, twin locked, Haultec CV's, custom tray & roll cage.
This puppy flies, we finished the motor last week and took it for a fang and it breaks traction in 1st, 2nd then chirps the tires into 3rd.
Not bad so far considering we have done it all in my shed at home.

Ther is a few 96 surfs gettin around in oz so possibly selling urs and buying a replacement may be easier. It all depends how many mods urs currently has and how much it means to u. Im pretty sure those models of surf hav the same running gear as gen2 surfs/4runners and same motors as diesel prados and hiluxes here in oz so parts are easy to come buy. Is the 5k just for shipping costs or do u hav to pay extra for import as the surfs are a grey import here in oz and never offically released so maybe more charges ther? As for standard height suspension packages they are numerous. I personally wud go a 2" kit and 31's as its still low but gives slight better clearance for when ur loaded up etc. Old man emu, TJM XGS, Tough Dog, Rancho, bilstein, koni etc etc are good brands. As far as lockers go the creme of the crop wud hav to be ARB airlockers and TJM prolockers as air operated lockers or detroits of sum description as auto jobbys. If U are intending to explore ur new home possibly selling ur surf and buying a well setup landcrusier or prado with sum mods already fitted wud be the way to go. my 2c. Cheers

seeing as though i am a proud surf owner i thought i should post up some pics of her

and a question that has probably been asked about 100 times but wat can i do about rear recovery points???
i have a towball but i am unsure if it would be strong enough to be a recovery point, i have attached some pictures of it
first one is the tow ball its self and the second one is looking up at the bolts mounting it onto the chassis from the bottom

Well heres an update on me rig. I picked her up from the dealer yesterday, fitted with the colour coded grill and a safari snorkel. Heres a pic of her below -

Now the good part......Those BLING rims came in yesterday arvo too, just before I picked her up. Today I went to my neighbour Rob's business after work. He owns The Suspension Centre in Kealba, Melbourne.

Well while there, his mate, who owns a tyre shop 2 shops down rocked up with his hilux Sr5, same colour as mine and had a 3" front lift fitted to the front so he can run 22" rims on it. The tyres on the rims are equivalent to 33" in diameter and 12.5" wide on 22's. He just removed the mudflaps. Heres a pic of it -

Im going to get this kit fitted to my Hilux, 3" on the front. But I will get 3.5" lifted on the rear so the back of mine will be higher than the pic above by that much. The kit uses specially designed foam cell struts and matching foam cell shocks on the rear. They reckon the hilux's handle awesome and flat around corners on the road and give very good travel off it. Only time will tell I guess.

The tuffest new shape hilux around has to be Robs partners truck - It is their devopment vehicle. He runs 4" front lift, and 4.5" rear lift, with 16x8 sunraysias with a "custom" offset coz they cut out the centre and rewelded it to suit, which by chance happens to be the same offset as the BLING rims I bought....YEEEAAAHHH!

His Hilux is running 305/70x16's with no rubbing what-so-ever and tyres sit within the guards. This week they will be trialling a new design of adjustable height struts on his car. Heres a pic, I know you's are dying to see it -

So this time next week hopefully with the colour coded flares fitted, I can honestly say that my hilux will be getting me almost more excited than the missus ;)

It's not at full flex but it's a good shot (always a poser)
Got my new motor in now (stroker 308 with all the good gear) and it looks like I've got 2 cracked oil rings as it has developed some blow by and on steep decents in low gear the exhaust gets a bit smokey....... goes like hell though.
Looks like a strip down this weekend....

Got width, My tyres hang 50mm further out the guards hence the flares but gee she handles better now and I cant believe how quiet the MTZ's are for an aggressive tyre, The old girls ST-C's are heaps louder

Well went down to visit ryano the smorning and pick up my new goodies.
4X TSL Super Swampers 33x12.5" on 15x8 gunmetal grey wide offset sunnys. These rims will be used for trips to crusier park, rover etc just to keep damage away from my MT classic II's. The mickey T MTZ's will stay on the Classic II's as daily driver/beach/moderate offroad tyre.

I was surprised to c that the 305x70R16 MTZ's measure about an inch smaller in diameter then the imperial 33X12.5 swampers. (They r gona scrub like a bitch on flex :) ) O AN PS to all those who think ther mud tyres are loud, u shud hear these things at 100km/hr down the highway (HOLY SH*T) like a panzer is tailgating me lol.

While I had the MTZ's off I thought Id throw them on our 95 GXL prado for a look, it has a 2" kingspring/bilstein lift and they fitted under ok as long as u didnt plan on turning a corner lol. Maybe a 33X10.5 or 11.5 wud fit ok.

as u can c in this pick the space between the upper balljoint/control arm with the standard prado alloys and 265x75 (32x10.5) ST-C's.

Now with the 305X70 (33X12.5) (check out the amount of caliper exposed in pic1 compared with pic2 to get an idea on offset) MTZ's the -27 offset on the Classic II's actually gives more room inside even with the 2" extra tyre width. they do hang outside the factroy flares by about an inch tho. Cheers, i will try and get sum flex shots and post them up if i get a chance.

Mates Lux with 2" bodylift and 32s on 17s I like it looks sweet.

He only does light offroad work so the 32s and front locker should see it hold up fine. He is adding some roof lights like Celts this weekend.

I thought I'd share with you some pics of a Tacoma from a Yank Forum, that I think is pretty tuff.

He is running a 6" Fabtech suspension lift, 3" body lift and a 4.0 litre V6 engine. He is running 20" rims on 38" tires. Stock gears on it still and the blokes wondering why she's so slow........doh!

Boof, didnt you mention you were getting a Prado120 as a shopping trolley? This kit would allow you to fit 26" Bling or maybe more......double the bling factor?????


EDIT: Found some specs on the above pictured kit - Lift is 5.5" front + 4.5" rear lift,

ProComp lift is 4" diff drop + 1.5" suspension lift. This means that bracket is 4" lowering the crossmember and spacer drops the shock 5.5".

Rear coils are 220lbs/in (ProComp), Both coils are 18" long.

require approximately 7" of front crossmember cut-out.This is due to the new crossmember installation.

Heres my 4runner on the new 33's, with the bar lifted to suit the 3" body lift and the diff moved forward 1.5" to clear the rubber. Shackles next.

Got out to MtMee yesterday & had some fun after the recent rains. Was a tame day out though as the few good challenging tracks have had trees, not logs put across them blocking the way. Is a shame but was good to get the rig out.

Hey guys,

I haven't done much posting, but have been lurking around the forums for awhile but never really got around to posting up my Lux. I was looking at doing up a 4Runner as a play toy but it never really got off the ground so The Lux should get abit more TLC from now on. She's not as pretty as some of the others around here but she goes alright and with afew mods should beable to get me anywhere i wanna go. I just find it really "fun" to drive if that makes any sense :D

When I picked it up it had:

CT20 Turbo, Air to Air Intercooler, 2 1/2 Inch exhaust, 2" Lifted Dobison leaves, 31's, Bonnet Scoop, Shortened Tray

Since then I've added an Airtec Snorkel and fixed the dead spot in the stock temp guage.

Mods i'm hoping for in the near future are 2" Body Lift, 33" Bighorns, Rear Locker and a Water to Air Intercooler.

Would love to get together with some of you blokes for a wheel one day, I'm pretty new to the game so and hints/tips comments would be more than welcome :thumb:

This is my pride and joy. This photo is about a year old so there have been a few mods made since then including black powdercoating to the bullbar, sidesteps and rear bar, 33 inch bfg all terrains on king black sunraysia rims and 2" suspension lift. latest and not so greatest mod is a bad knock from number 4 gudgeon pin bush which inevitably cancelled a trip to black duck. Its still my pride and joy though.
