yer blew my clutch. didn't scratch it and showed a lot of big rig boys how quick a pissy little 2.8L petrol can go.
next year peoples 2 BRUTAL will be a force to be reckoned with. so many people thought my little red truck was a turboed beast when they saw him go but he is stock standard and has only been on the road for 1 month.
370 horse power at the rear wheels won the dyno comp.
a GQ trayback running nitros.

I think Twisty Toy may have suffered some damage to his liver after a quite respectable alcohol intake on saturday arvo ;D How did you pull up on sunday morning mate?

dunno. i didn't see him. the last i saw him was saturday arvo just before the rallycross started. he was still standing then. even if he was leaning on my rig.

geez. i'm pissed with how they started the races. it cost me a top 3 in my class i reckon. they hold you up for to long before they drop the flag. why can't they use the lights like they had for the hill drags. you start to build up your revs then they hold you to long slippin your clutch so you start to back off a bit then they drop the flag. i bogged down every start.
the rally cross start is on a slight upwards slop so you have to either handbrake start of double pedal your brake and accelarator.
and the mud pursuit was a bit down hill.
but man i hade a ball.

Does anyone know what happened to the red hilux that crashed on the main road heading to the camping ground (just near the start of telecom hill)? Also there was an old nissan ute that had rolled and was parked in the office carpark, looked like a bad roll as the roof was smashed down to the sterring wheel.

I ran out beer at 3am Monday morning, so was pretty happy with my effort over the weekend. Can't wait to be racing nextyear but!!!

I had to do the handbrake start in the Hill Drags last year, it really recks it, specially with the umbrealla style 4Runner handbrake. It's harder again if you doing it in low range, by the time you've dropped the handbrake you have to change gears. Think next time I do it I will get some 31's on something on so high range can be used.

Well I didnt get a chance to go as the missus took my car on Sunday home and I was left at Somerset skiing and drinking lots.

On my way home yesterday I followed a Rangie towing a Bitsareshitty with trailer with lots of mud all over it. I think he was a victim

the bloke that rolled the hilux was apparantly a bit tiddly. his mrs was a mess, a heap of teeth missing and a smashed face. she wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was thrown thru the sunroof.
he deserves what he gets. the accident investigation mob from brissy are investigating it to. as well as all the other rollovers from what i've heard to check for unroadworthyness.
a mate of mine knows the owner of the nissan. he rolled 6 times out the back of the park somewhere in low range 1st. a real slippery side slop on a hill and he just slid off and over. wasn't hurt though and the cops let him take it home straight away as there was no dangerous driving or grog involved.

I came up with a damage bill 2 days after taking delivery of my new Navara. Went camping in some rough country over easter and hit a small but nasty washout on a dirt road doing about 60k's. Was hidden in the shadows coming onto nightfall.

The result was the spline in the rear of the front end torsion bar retainer striped clean out and collapsed the front end on thew passenger side. I was extremely dissapointed as i have hit larger obstacles at greater speed in other 4b's and never done that damage before.

But in all fairness they werten't IFS either so maybe ii need to make the adjustments in my driving style instead. ???

That's damm good value 2 Brutal, I recently paid about $300 for a Daikin Safari in mine, and that was wholesale from my girlfriends grandad at KB Auto. I think they retail for over $500.

My last clutch didn't last 12 months but, it was a PBR Heavy Duty, I wouldn't get one of them again, it wasn't very heavy duty. I'm very happy with the Dakian one so far. Hopefully it handles the almost an extra hundred or so horses that should be arriving on it soon!!!

As for the drinking driving out at the Park those guys deffiently deserve all they cop. I haven't drove drunk out there since rolling mine while under the influence, it scares the shit out of me now, specially when I think about the 3 mates I could have killed while doing it. Lucky my girlfriend doesn't like drinking all day so she can do the driving when I'm way over the limit. I do think there should be a little more tollerance out there for being slightly over...Depends how people handle there grog too I guess, like my stupid mate than hit me with hs hilux. 3 beers and he thinks he's in Rally Australia, hopefully what he did on the weekend will scare him enough to settle him down!!!

Drink driving is drink driving and you can be charged in any part of LCMP. From now on when there are large events on in the park there will be 2 permanant 4wds with police driving around the park handing out fines for everything from no seatbelts to drink driving. And they will be hammering the Pig Pen.

The driver of the Red hilux that rolled will most likely be charged with dangerous driving. He came into the corner too fast then stood on the throttle and tried to throw it sideways and the tyres bit in and flipped the hilux real fast. Investigators are not sure which window the girl came out as both front and rear screens are also out of the vehicle. As of Sunday afternoon she was in intensive care in a brisbane hospital after surgery on here skull which has multiple fractures.
The vehicle has been impounded for a full DOT inspection. It has a lot of illegal mods. I had a real good look at the rig at the impound yard its now stored in and if the girl had been wearing a seatbelt i doubt she would have had much more than a few scratches. Both doors and all the front panels are in perfect condition without a scratch on them.

The investigators were not interested in any of the other vehicles that were involved in accidents over the long weekend.

Its a pitty its always the minority that destroy it for the majority.

On another note i broke a centre pin in the rhf leaf spring on my hilux driving the last obstical on the last stage of the rock crawling comp.

But i also finished in second place ;D

Better than my last 2 comps where i DNFed due to broken transfer cases :-\

Thanks to ARB Northcoast 4x4 for my $400 gift voucher ;D 8)

But i then snapped the crank shaft on my tow rig on the way home :'( just as i got into Kilcoy. But thanks to RACQ Ultra i got my Tow Rig and Comp rig and trailer home for just $50 back to the upper gold coast area :)

twisty toy that was from repco an RPM clutch. have you heard much about them. i've also been quoted on a daikin but it was about $320 i think. the RPM has 32% extra pressure and the daikin about 40% i've been told. can you see what price you can get me a daikin for. 81 patrol 2.8L petrol ;)
mate. people should know by now that DD is a bad thing. that big sign at the entrance wasn't there last year saying about the road rules so i guess they have to start clamping down. remember i think it was 2 years ago that bloke rolled his lux doing donuts up the back of the expo site and his mate in the back went flying and broke his arm. it does make it hard for everyone especially Alben and Helen who are the ones who cop the flak for letting it happen even though they can't stop people. it's the same as people riding/ standing in the back of utes or shorty's with no seats. they are asking for trouble. we nearly got taken out coming into trekka tce camp on sunday arvo by a hilux being driven by young kids. i think mummy and daddy thought it was ok to let them have a drive even though they were on the wrong side of the road. they looked like about 15 year olds.

I haven't had any experience with the RPM ones, might be worth starting a thread on clutches?? I'll try and gte you a price, he got the shits with me recently with getting cheap parts for my mates, so now only gives me 4runner type parts, for wholesale anyway, I usally get trade for the other stuff so I'll see what I can do.

Do you reckon it was becuase of that guy that rolled it a phew years ago in the Expo site that you are not allowed to camp there anymore?? I used to love camping in the Expo site, it was such a better setup. Park the truck and leave it and walk to everything with your Esky!!

Firstly, congrats to RUFF for putting on a great show for us during the weekend. Some of those rocks looked painfull.
I busted my the drivers side front hub on saturday. Lovely clattering noise. NOT. It will probally take about a month to get the parts if im lucky. Exaust pipe got belted by the axle about 10 times too much over the weekend. the last one busted the rear mount where the pipe welds to it. Mind you the wire repair on the same hanger diddnt fail. Go the wire!

twisty you did have to much to drink. do you remember seeing the 6 spark plug leads when you were looking under the bonnet. :P :P :P :P ;D just tell your mate it's a nissan 4 runner he won't know the difference. i think the main reason they changed the camping around was that so many people were camping close to the tracks on the hill and with all the people wandering around there tents i think things were going missing and it was harder to control the traffic side of things. it is better for spectators this way but i understand what you mean about the esky bit. it would get a bit heavy carrying it after a while hey. they need to put in another gate so you don't have to walk half way around the fence to get in after you park your car. they are probably also setting it up to cater for mud bulls and music as well and other big do's they have. ;) thanks mate.

Not happy about this weekend, there was a lot of theft over the weekend. We had $700 worth of video stock stolen from an official's marquee, we unfortunately could not attend the event to look after everything, and the people in charge of the marquee also had a lot of stock and equipment stolen as well. Some retail outlets may be able to absorb these costs, but small businesses like ours have trouble trying to stay afloat when these things happen to us. So if you hear of any of our tapes or DVDs being offered on the cheap, you know what to do...

It is a shame to think that some of our fellow four wheelers are thieves, how can you trust the items at your campsite?

I heard last year a bloke in a cruiser ute broke down and couldn't do much until the next morning so he locked his truck up on one of the main tracks and some low life came along and stole his bullbar and spotties off his headboard. these bloody A#$HOLES should have their rigs stolen and see how it feals.

Damn Area54. You hadn't said anything in OL about that?

That will be the last time we will be attenting an event that big at LCMP. Not happy at all about the complete chaos that reigns supreme. Alben and the crew had better work out something better for general security for these types of events.

thats a real bastard getting knocked off. especially out of a marque. it doesn't matter where you go or what you do there is always someone to spoil things. if i hear anything i'll let you know.
i'm not taking sides but it's very hard to blame Alben. he had security guards everywhere, checking people for Id etc coming and going. but with the number of people walking around nobody would look twice at someone coming or going from a closed marque. i'm surprised more stuff doesn't go missing from peoples camps with the amount of people getting around. i hope you recover your goods or get some info on who took it.
