L28 gutless down low

My Patrol (standered L28 in all ways) is gutless down low.Any help to give more grunt under 3000 rpm will be great.
I dont know if I can put a supercharger on it or anything like that but all info will be greatfully appreciated.

If it is the 2.8l, there is not alot that can be done to increase low down power except a bigger donk (my opinion)

I know how u feel on lack of power as I have a 2.4l in a Cruiser & I am looking to fit an intercooler & increase boost soon, but I don't think low down torque will be affected greatly.

a supercharger could be expensive but if you want to spend that sort of money maybe a jap import motor might be the go, like a nissan 2.5lt twin ohc turbo motor, a jap motor importer might even be able to tell you if a motor like i mentioned will bolt up to your bellhousing. ;D ;D ;D
