Lightning strikes

G'day
Just thought i would share some pics i took last night during a storm. I have been waiting for ages to try and get some good lighting shots and i think i got a few last night (probably took 80-90 photos).

I had the camera set up on my tripod on the veranda - found out when i uploaded the photos that the thunder was shaking the veranda bluring most of the pics.

camera is a Nikon D70 set in shutter priority at 20 secs set up on a tripod and using a remote shutter release. pretty much kept clicking away constantly till i could bear the mozzies no longer

Great pics , I tried to get a couple when we were at Wonnongatta the weekend the fires were started, mostly got a red glow as they were behind a hill.

most of the strikes where approximatly 1 or 2 k's away but here is the one that sent shivers up my spine when i saw it - only a couple of hundred meters away at the most and shook the buggery out of the house

Dad got a few shots sunday night with his canon 400D, only one of them was decent the other 2 weren't that good, taken in RAW mode it's pretty big so i'll wait till it's saved smaller before i post it up.
