Hi all,

My name is Craig and I've just recently entered this world called 4WD. Bought a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder. I know it's probably not considered a 4WD by most of the people here but a Series 80 Cruiser or something like that seems to big to me!!

Anyway, I live on the Central Coast NSW and have only been offroad once so far - up to the Watagans to get the car dirty. I've stumbled across the Central Coast 4WD Club by chance by reading some other postings here. Pretty close for me too as I live only about 5 mins away from the meeting place!! I will definitely be trying to make an appearnace there soon.

Since I'm new to all of this 4WD stuff, can anyone out there help me with a bit of advice on the sort of stuff you should have with you when you go bush?

Thanks to all and have fun with what you do
Craig

Welcome Craig.
I am one of the happy members of Central Coast 4WD Club & I reckon it is a pretty good club.
As for worrying about your Pathy not being as capable as Joe Bloggs (sorry if anyone actually has that name) 80 series, I reckon with the correct training, you can pretty much go anywhere a standard 80 can go.
A few years ago when I first joined, we had a standard Suzuki Sierra & I thought that 4wding was driving dirt tracks with maybe a few ruts here & there. Our first club trip was to Newnes & I was introduced to the Spanish Steps, now I can't get enough of that sort of stuff.
On our last trip down there, another club had 3 pathy's climbing the steps with relative ease.
As for advice when going bush, like Wooders said in another post, make sure you have good recovery points front & rear, get a snatch strap & at least 2*3.5 tonne rated bow shackles, a first aid kit, UHF radio & try to get involved in an afffiliated club.

Hope to catch u out there somewhere,
BT
