it's now under 5 weeks to go till O/R 2004 at Landcruiser mountain park. are we going to have a bit of a get together some time over the 4 days up there. 30th April till the 3rd of May.
when will people's be arriving and where are you camping.
when do you want to try and meet up.
where do you want to meet up.

my self and probably 4 or 5 other 4B's will be getting there early friday morning and probably camping at Treka Terrace.
depending on what events people are entering in and wanting to watch it is a busy weekend so any suggestions on a meeting time and place are open for offers.

Same time as you 2Brutal hope to get there friday morning. We always camp near the horse stable things near the office so we can walk over to the Expo site at night. It's a great spot to camp, but gets crowded. I'll be with a crew of around 10 or more trucks....But I'm the only forum member? I think??

Am starting to think my truck isn't going to make it out now but, well not by turbo power anyway. Things have been going really slow the last couple of weeks, but there is still a small chance it might be finished.

Maybe those of us who get there friday should meet up then sometime?? since there'll be atleast half a day to kill. If I'm not washing my truck for the show 'n' shine :D Maybe all the forum guys could come around to my campsite and help me do that, what fun that would be!!! ;D

I will be there competing in the Rock Crawling event that is running. Should be interesting. This is the first Man Made track for Rock Crawling in aus and from all reports is going to be action Packed. We will also have the MogRover,Lockless Monster and hopefully a new Creation from Haultech Engineering 8)

anything goes in rock crawling doesn't it. they don't have different classes.

There is usually 2 classes -modified Must be Regoed and complied, and Outlaw Anything Goes, I beleive most of the vehicles that will be there will be Outlaw. Im not sure if they are running classes. My rig actually could qualify for Modified but i will be running with the Outlaw Class anyway.

I'm not sure whether it's worth competing or not if I don't get my turbo on, it'll still have the Wolf Management and 3" mandrel exhuast in, so it might be worth having a crack in the standard petrol class?? Will see??

The mudpursuit sounds like the go but, hoepfully they got those couple of bumps out of the middle of the corners that were there last time??

It was more muddy last year than dusty at the stock yards, but it can get that way. It's good being able to walk to the Expo site with an Esky and not have to worry about getting done by the pesky coppers that hang around the gate with the RBT.

last year the creeks had the most water flowing in them that i've seen in a long time which is great. they've had some good rain up there also, so lets hope they get a bit more and it'll be even better. i remember on 1 trip the pig pen was a bit like where Croozerute rides his camels it was that dry.

Bagley a few of us will be there on Friday so we can all say G'day and have a bit of a play. I'll be getting there probably about 8-9am on friday morning. i'm not sure were in the park the winch racing is on friday night. sometimes it's in the expo site other times it's been off in the park somewhere but they never run on time. i no doubt will see twisty as he's near the stock yards but i will most likely be camping out at Cowra or trekka. not sure yet. are you coming with only 1 vehicle or in a group.

My truck went in for the exhuast today, and gets the new engine management gets tuned on wednesday, so I'll be on the road agian, and my truck will make it out there, STOKED, which will be a lot better than taking me girlfriends Mirage out!!!

Since my turbo isn't on just the Dyno to compare last years results with the new mods, and mods removed, since I lost my extracors and twin 2" system and now have a 3" Mandrel with Std. Manifold. I have also lost the shitty Std. Airbox and restrictive air flow meter and just have a pod filter, and will also have the Wolf Engine Management on too, which is giving me a headache at the moment!!

If my turbo had of been on I would have gone in the Hill Drags, Mud Pursuit and Show n Shine, bit didn't get the exhuast mnaifold and intercooler finished in time.

I'm racing in the Rallyx and mud pursuit. standard class. went and had a bit of a play in the forestry today, high speed rally style to see how it goes at speed. very impressed i woz. and my brother surfin will also be racing in the same events but he's old and slow, :P :P ;D :'( so if we both make the finals it will be interesting. considering he's driving my car he only owns about 1/10 at present. the adjustable shockies are great for the high speed stuff. not that either of these to races is high speed but in the RX there is a lot of twisting and turning so the stiffer shocky setting will be great.

Hell no mate, no lazing around for me, was up till 12:30 on it last night, rechecking everything I've done in the last couple of months to try and find some of the problems, it fires up perfect when cold, won't fire at all when hot?? Work that out?? I did have some vacum hoses wrong for a valve that controls the fuel pressure, so hopefully that's it. One of the injector plugs was stuffed too, so that's why it was only running on 5. And the guys that did the exhuast are fixing the rather large portion of flange that didn't weld today too.

So I'll finish all that tonight, get a tune in the morning and hopefully it's all going fine. I've left it awful late. If it's not keep an eye out for a green mitishbishi mirage covered in mud !!!!

Was an awesome weekend.. sorry I didn't get to the pig pen but I ended up getting a lift up there.. I got 3 hours worth of video and 100's of photos so I'll try to get some up over the next few days.. and winning a $1000 worth of ROH Alloys was a pretty sweet way to end the weekend ;D

Hey all, it was good to meet up with a phew of you's!!! I had an absolute cracker of a weekend, didn't win anything like you other guys, but sank a shitload of piss, congratulations on you guys for winning that stuff anyway.

Gained about 20% more horsepower on the dyno from the new Engine Management Computer, was still miles off the other guys but. Maybe next year when the Turbo is on??

I also got hit by a car saturday night, by a mate that shouldn't have been driving, am still a bit tender from it, lucky I was drunk too!!!

link yep the bloody thing is big alright. just as well i went up with 2 cars or i wouldn't have been able to fit it in on the way home.
Twisty toy. i heard you were a bit tiddly. lucky you weren't hurt mate. we came across that rollover on daipier road saturday arvo. the bloke driving apparently was a bit pissed as well and just about killed his Mrs. she wasn't wearing a seat belt and was thrown thru the sunroof. lost about 5 teeth and smashed her face up pretty bad. he must have been flying to roll it there. it's blokes like him that make it hard on the operators with running costs and insurance.
I don't know how i placed in the finals of my class but i think it was about 5th. the outright fastest was that LWB vitara. he was in the standard petrol class. (standard my ass).
my sponsors were pretty happy with my first attempt considering i hadn't even had a change to do a thing to the motor.

Had an awesome weekend! Was good to speak to a few of the guys off the forum. Hilux went like a train all weekend and only got stuck once in the pig pen on monday morning( it wasn't that deep on sunday night). Camping was great, we camped next to a bunch of 16 year old girls ;D. My brother even picked up one chick on sun night ::) Just looked at the video and pics we took, awesome! Had an awesome weekend! Was good to speak to a few of the guys off the forum. Hilux went like a train all weekend and only got stuck once in the pig pen on monday morning( it wasn't that deep on sunday night). Camping was great, we camped next to a bunch of 16 year old girls ;D. My brother even picked up one chick on sun night ::) Just looked at the video and pics we took, awesome! Will try and post a few soon.



Was that the single long hole along the back of the large bog hole?

If so i know exactly why it was deaper on monday morning ;D ;D

yes that was the one. i found out why after i got pulled out.I reckon that there was probably a few guys like me who got stuck on monday. Was all a bit of fun! First time the lux has been stuck in that much water, had to happen eventually ;D

Had a bloke come and tell me what had been done and that the hole was heaps deeper, just after i had been pulled out with a foot of water inside the lux. Impecable timing ::)

How much deeper do you think it got? It was flowing into it fairly quick when we left after Disco Stew swam 2 laps of the pig pen for $50 ;D

I drove it sunday night and it barely covered the wheels. Drove it moday morning and it came up over the bonnet.

i went thru that hole on monday morning about 10am and it wasn't all that deep. maybe you helped drain it hey, i had brutal under water, level with the top of my headlights on monday coming back to camp. and a mate in our group swamped his rangie at the brissy river junction on sunday. he had about a foot of water thru his cab. another of our group pulled him out and we drained it sprayed some crc on the dissy and away we went. his fan was throwing water all over his engine bay which cause it to stop after the dissy got wet. but no harm done and was a good laugh.

2 Brutal, it Christian from the Coast here(Micheals mate). That Vitara that won the mud pursuit is standard all bar a set of extrators (apparently), its from the coast and its Albens nephews 4x4.

if that things standard apart from extractors i'm not here. you can't tell me that a standard zook can go quicker than a 360hp GQ ute and a turboed SWB GQ. i know its got a lot to do with the driver but i reckon he didn't have his best run in the finals. ;D

Yeah I remember seeing Matt Ely and you there, I was in my old 4runner. I haven't seen Matt in ages!!!

Yeh that was the day mate, a while ago now. I don't know if you know Twisty gut Matt bought a GU 4.8 then sold his GU ute and nom has just got one of those factory jacked up Ford supercab things.

Same reason Matt got rid of his Cruiser. And damm I wish I bought the wreck....Wouldn't have wasted so much god damm money on this my current one....but hey that's life. I think everyone has to roll over once ;D
