looking for any decent but not to hardcore tracks around Brisbane that could be done in a day trip.
Mate,
Try the springs 4x4 park, someone from overlander forum is organising a trip this weekend. Some going for a day and a few for overnight.
Landcruiser mountain park in Jimna (2 hrs from brisbane).
Beerwah tracks . Or better still get yourself a copy of the Dirty weekend 4wd guide (34.95) available from most 4wd outlet or where camping gears are sold.
Good luck.

Nope they are different places The springs is a good 1 and a half hrs from Brisbane.
In the way of Parks in no particular order you have Cityview, Crystalvale, Levuka, Rover, Springs, Emu Creek, Cruiser. All varying in travel time.
As suggested the dirty weekends book is a good one and has a lot of national park trips in it also.
Personally I believe Levuka to be a very good park for more stock vehicles. However stay away after rain ;)
My mates that have been inexperienced in 4bying with standard trucks have always had a good time there.

Interesting recommendations, tookeron is closed due to local council pain and black duck is much more of a trail bike park than 4wd....
Having said that there are plenty of local parks, the majority of "tracks" have undergone recent closure issues at places such as ormeau ripley etc.
City view, Janowen, 'Cruiser are all reasonably close to brisbane and i've had some fun driving at all of them.
For weekend trips i've heard good reports of Rover, the Springs and Big Riggin.
Course there is always the state forest if you apply for a permit, or join a club and get better state forest access.
