I know a guy that was locked in there by a couple of council workers, once they locked the gate with him on the wrong side, they called the cops and the NPWS, he ended up getting fined.

we went, and had a good time. was jus kieren (tariadamar) and his 2 mates in his mq shorty. and me in the GU ute.

went to cabbage tree in kurrajong. tried a few minor climbe and a few steps, both needed bigger tyres for a couple of them though.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k123/joel001_2006/Cnv0039.jpg

kieren was the first to get stuck. bellied out on a bash plate with both passenger side wheels spinning. got him out with a bit of rock placement and road building. went down the hill and it got a bit too big for us. "do you need to go there?" no, so we didn't.

back tracked a bit and went up another trail to a descent hill. i was first up... and first stuck. i got the line wrong and ended up with my diff on the top side of a rock with both front wheels lacking traction from the air and a rear wheel on the bottom side of a step. rock placement didn't work cos they kept getting thrown out, factory jack wasn't big enough. so out came my hand winch and kieren's hi-lift. some decent rocks under the wheels and a bit of work on the winch and i could move again down the hill that we built up a bit first.

kieren drove straight up while i packed up. my second attempt didn't fair much better. so we moved on.

another hill, and a bit of work for kieren and his mate to make the track alright. and then my couple of close calls with some trees.... thank god i have a ute.

a bit of luch in richmond and we moved on to vineyard

the first track proved the most interesting. pretty much a former road that has been blocked off by a coupla hundred metres of 4' piles of dirt that over the years have become piles and holes of mud, glorious mud.
the ute walked straight though all be it with a bit of side step usage.
but the mq wasn't so lucky. 50mtrs in and he was stuck, and the more he worked the worse of a position he appeared to be in. he ripped the end of his exhaust off.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k123/joel001_2006/Cnv0038.jpg
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k123/joel001_2006/Cnv0036.jpg

but managed to back out. but he had to give it another go. than he got better stuck, on a precarious angle
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k123/joel001_2006/Cnv0035.jpg

so GUte to the rescue

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k123/joel001_2006/Cnv0034.jpg

pulled him out. but then as i reversed out i missed the track and ended up in a hole that i drove out of, onto the wrong side. and the bullbar doesn't work well as a dozer blade but not for lack of trying.
bit of digging and i was back on.

so up the road to another wombat hole track with more side step damage.
and some rutted mud holes to drive using the mq as a depth guage.
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k123/joel001_2006/Cnv0032.jpg

more damage

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k123/joel001_2006/Cnv0033.jpg

and that was about it.

damage toll:

GU Ute;
mud flap removal, bent steps, broken spottie for reversing... thats all i've found.

MQ;
front quater panel, rear of exhaust, alternator, was there more?

cheer's ya'll. hope to see ya on the next one.

yeh my frount diff got filled with water as my breather was blocked but all good now and the side panel is fixed the alternator now works and the exaust is now going to come out the side and wil work good with my new tow bar that is coming sweet hope to meet up again.
