After seing the death of porters and jacksons, im wondering if anyone else knows of good day trip spots around sydney?
I know of cabbage tree rd, londonderry (yay, hard *sarc*) and that little spot near jacksons at emu plains.
Aparantly someone has destroyed the fence at Yarramundi, but that place has been closed so long that the tracks would be just about weathered and grown away.
Also too, with Kurnell 4wd park, is it true you can only drive to the beach now? not around the dunes?
If anyone knows any spots they would like to share then please tell, but if its a secret spot and you think I am some fun sherrif greenie and paranoid that feds will come and prosecute you for enjoying the bush, then tell Bob Carr about the land you drive on and have him turn it into some gay, exclusive resort where politicians can snort their cocaine of the ass crack of thaiwanese boys, then dont tell me.

Get a copy of the Boiling Billy Book called "4WD Treks around Sydney"
I use it regularly for trip planning & although most of the tracks mentioned are fairly easy, they will put you in the area of some more gnarly stuff if you look for it.
Another way to find heaps of good quality tracks it to join an affilliated club.
Easiest way to find one in your area is to visit http://nsw.4wd.org.au/cms/

At Kurnell 4wd park (Boat Harbour) you can still drive around some...dunes...but I'd hardly call them that, more like just a large sandy area with a few small humps. I was there a while back and there were lots of people and not a lot of space so if you have the time drive up to Stockton instead. It also costs to enter at Kurnell. As mentioned, Menai is good if you can get access.
