We are going camping either at Mungo Brush or Seals Rocks on the long weekend in October (Sat-Tues). I'll be taking the fishing gear and maybe the tinnie, the better half will be bringing a couple books and her bush walking boots.

Anyone keen to make it a forum meet? Must like good music, cold beer/wine/booze, BBQ and a good laugh.

The 4wding is pretty tame, just a couple of trails, a bit of rain forest. But you can head over into the state forest and get stuck into it.

There's 4wd beach access too. I saw a guy getting towed behind a hilux yaers ago on a snow board, he was carving the white wash. Looked like fun

Wow so wish I was able to get up that way again. I used to camp at Myall Lakes every school holidays. Have some fond memories.

Although that was before they sealed the road and added parking bays and other crap!!

Have fun!! Make sure you post up some pics for me hehe

Yeah should be good. We used to mainly camp at Seal Rocks, but I've camped at legg's camp a couple times also. My sister has a part share in a house boat there so I'm hoping to jump on that a couple weekends this summer to.

Sure is, I'm heading up Friday night and at the moment planning on staying at Mungo Brush, just north of Hawks nest. I'm taking the boat to so if you are keen to wet a line, bring the fishing rod. Some campgrounds allow fires so i'll be bringing some firewood.

I'll be making a quick run into Newcastle saturday to pick up my GF and we'll be staying till Tuesday afternoon.

I'd be happy to meet you somewhere Friday night or Saturday

hey guys,
i used to go there all the time when i was little... then it got blue green algae in it from the "redevelopment" at leggs camp.. i think its called tea gardens resort or something.. i went there last year to see how much it was to camp...

i think it was a huge figure something like 25 dollars per head per night... maybe thats wrong.. but i remember it being rediculous.. thats why we go to mungo brush.. but then we still havent been since it had blue green algae in the water.....

does anyone know how it is now??
maybe its changed?? :D
cheers john

I go to mungo brush a few times every year. Love it. Water is fine. In my view one of the best national park camp sites in NSW.

Hey Stew,

Do you have any idea what Dee's corner is like? It's next camp along from Mungo. I'm thinking about that one as it allows fires.

Don't now where Dee's corner is but was up there about

four weeks ago and the seaweed stunk when we went

through the last few kilometres before the ferry.
