I've been a subscriber to 4WD Monthly for nearly 5 years now, as it's the only decent 4x4 Mag available from anywhere.
I drive a 1999 100 Series 4500 GX, as mentioned in an earlier thread, the SA version of this truck is factory fitted with 3 lockers [Centre, rear, front] unfortunately the system has an interlock that only allows the front lock to be engaged after the rear lock is engaged.
My trucks list of equipment includes;
TJM alloy Bull Bar with Hella spotties
Dual batt system
Blue Tongue 111 compressor
Rancho RS9000 shocks with in cab kit
OME springs with 100mm lift
Alloy roof rack
EasyAwn roof top tent
Long Ranger 180L aux tank
Aluminium sliding drawers
National luna 40ltr fridge freezer
IEF [a local Kaymar copy] rear wheel carrier
60 ltr water tank
285/75 16 BFG AT's
Having travelled extensively and being a regular visitor to Aus, I can confirm that the terrain in Southern Africa is very similar to that of Aus, the only difference, is when we go bush, it is normal, no expected to have numerous encounters with the local wild life, like, elephants, lions, rhino, hippo etc etc.
Looking forward to exchanging info and ideas...........
