Looking to travel the Creb Track in June and was wondering if anyone had done the trip, and/or could recommend sights to see in and around the area.

Thanks guys

interseting name NM, pity the purple stars dont come with it..... 8)

Will check to keep tabs on the weather and track reports given the rains, cyclones and floods across Aus of late before planning to go anywhere.

Plenty to see in the area.
An NQ 4WD club will be doing it in June- weather permitting- it sometimes rains in June up that way especially when there is a strong Easterly flow onto the coast due to high pressure ridge. It is usually just in time to disrupt the cane crushing season at Mossman and Gordonvale which often starts immediatly after QBday weekend.
Queens Birthday Weekend is the Cooktown Discovery Festival- worth a look.

Good track, easy to medium travck in the dry, don't bother in the wet. you will wreck the track if you are lucky, have a long camp until it drys out if you are not.

We did it 2 years ago in a rentaL Cruiser (don't tell the rental company) and had no problems at all on stuffed AT tyres (dry weather)

I'll be looking out Chooka ;)

There will be 3 of us, we're in a burnt silver Patrol, Cooper ST's, TJM bar and lightforce 240s out front.

Other vehicles will be a decked out 100 Series, with just about everything imaginable, and a Disco.

This is a great adventure. As one who has done the track on both Motorbike and 4x4 Landy I'd like to impart one piece of advice DONT DO IT IF IT'S WET not plesant at all can turn into a nightmare in no time. Used to live in the area and know the track well. Other than that enjoy and have a great trip in one of the best locations in OZ

There has been talk of the Creb track being locked of, as the locals are "sick and tired of rescuring weekend warriors".I don't know if it has happened or is really going to happen,it was just an article in the Cairns Post the other week
