Hey, cool truck (is there such a thing as a bad 80 series..... ??? ::)) - did you put the part-time kit in it, or was it already like that when ya got it? Just interested - thinking of doing the same to mine one day............

what were the fuel figures before and after the part time conversion? I was thinking about it myself but have heard differing opinions....?

I got an extra 50km out of a tank of lpg when I fitted it plus it handle's better on the road & when cruising on the high way the rev's are lower in top gear.
The full time 4WD was not designed for australian conditions its more suited to snow and icey roads.
With the full time 4WD the front diff gets about (& dont hold me to this) 60% drive & the rear 40% so if you blow a CV or snap a front axel you will lose all drive trust me you dont want this to happen I once got stuck on the Princess HWY with a blown cv and a tow truck plus $110 I got home wasnt fun would hate that to happen in the bush.
Any way with a part time kit only worth $600 it was money well spent

Hi there, nice 80 looks like you have it set up well. Could you tell me how big is your lpg tank under the back is as i am going 5.0lL v8 in mine and want to run 2 tanks 1 under and 1 inside. And when you broke that cv you should of taken out the front prop shaft and locked the center diff in and you could of drove it home. Cheers Kim ;D
